Well, 8 years ago I experienced the joy of watching Canada win Gold on American soil. It was the first hockey game that brought tears to my eyes. Torino was a joke, Canada was cocky and didn't think there would be the competition it had. Now, 2010, on home soil Canada has to win. We might have the most golds medals, but this medal is oh so important. I'll be glued to a T.V at a local sports bar either drinking for joy or drowning my sorrows in some fine malt liquor...I hope it's tears for joy again. The fact that we are up against the American team is what makes this game all the much better. If we were going against any other team, the victory would still be sweet, but the rivalry between our two nations in terms of hockey makes it that much better. Here's hoping for "Oh Canada" at the end of that game!!

Any others rooting for Canada?

The game is at 12:15 pacific, 3:15 on the east coast, and 9:15 here in Germany. I couldn't be happier with the early start time. I actually get to watch it.

Diehard hockey fan here, and these two teams have been the obvious cream of the crop in this tournament. There's really no way this game won't live up to expectations. Both want it, and to be honest they both deserve it. I can't wait.

I think this will be a nail-biter til the very end. I don't see more than a 2-goal lead by either team, and won't be surprised if it goes to OT. Man, Luongo is just an incredible goalie, some of the stuff he stopped from the Slovaks were just jaw-dropping.

GO CANADA GO! (Or as us diehards say: GOLD CANADA GOLD!

Lemme see... dishes, laundry, vacuuming, cooking, cleaning the bathrooms... yep, hopefully the missus will have all of that done before the game starts and I can watch the game in peace.

Gotta go... I think I hear her coming this way. :O)

I'm not making any bold predictions in this one.

Like Galadriel says in the Lord of the Rings, "Your quest stands on the edge of a knife."

So it is for Canada, and so it is for the USA. There is no clear advantage for either. It could be one of the hardest fought battles of all time, or one team could suddenly just take over and blow the other out for any number of reasons.

Nobody can say how this is going to go, and it's as nerve-wracking as I've ever felt right now.

Go Canada. I FEEL that Canada can win, but it will take so many things going right for them, and wrong for the U.S.

Break a leg Ryan Miller, and I don't mean that in the theatrical sense of well-wishing.

Tickets, if you can find any, are selling for 10,000 bucks a piece now.

(There goes my M9!)

How'd Team USA even get to this game? The Canadians are schooling 'em BIG time. Much more controlled team thus far than Team USA.

If memory serves, it was by beating Canada.
