So I am new here but have been interested in photography for around 20 years but just really started getting serious about it. I think the critque club would be fun to do but I'm not sure if I have the experience for it. So, if ayone has a shot, old or new, that they would like me to critique and then they critique my critique (that's a mouth full) then let me know.

Just post a link in this thread and I will get to it as quickly as I can.

Why not just join the Critique Club? There is a backlog of images to be critiqued of what, oh, 58000 or so?

Because I don't know if I am qualified enough for that. This is kind of like a trial run to see if I have a good enough eye.

So sorry to keep you waiting :) Here ya go.

My first impressions of this shot were that the textures are amazing and it just has a nice feel to it. The colors are very nice and the shot as a cool feel.

The composition seems a bit cluttered and just a little too much going on. I think the shot would have worked better if you could have moved to the left and shot at another angle as to have the ladder moved further to the right and crop out a bit more on the right.

The lighting works really well on this and is well done.

The processing also seems nice and not overdone. If anything I would like to see the white area at the bottom center of the ladder eliminated.

Overall I think this was a well done shot. I think this style of shot will likely appeal too many and to the others, that just want eye candy, it will probably be overlooked.

I would guess this to finish with a 5.6 in a challenge and I would have likely voted it an 8.

Thanks! This is actually an image file I had saved from about three years back from a shoot where the place is rapidly being torn down. So these images I have are irreplaceable.

Anyone else? Or anyone want to critique my critique?

Hey Joshua!

I think the critique you made is good, the important thing is trying to spend some time in an image, and get the good and the bad.
Remember a lot of people will appreciate if you tell them they need more work, or they haven't done enough as long as the critique is constructive and you can offer alternatives (as you done with the photo below).

However, if you still want to train :P

I would like some critic about this one.
Can you comment inside the section for comments of the shot and not here in the forum? It's better so i don't loose your comment and give me the chance to mark it as helpfull!
Thanks!

It is done, let me know what you think. Is there something more you would have liked to see in the critique or less?
