"six words memoirs" that made me comment:

"it depends on who you ask" by tnun

even without seeing its face that bird looks mean

"Through Light and Dark. Harmony Found." by bspurgeon

the textures in your image invite touching (not voting, but hey, how much more can one wish for beyond a multi-sensual artwork?)

"one step forward two steps back" by jmritz

I like how you walk in all directions at once

"Fuck identity politics, I prefer ecstasy." by keyz

it is that radio that turns this somewhat in, but many questions are still left hung in the air.

"Unclear how I became a dog..." by skewsme

we never think clearly unless it is about food or breeding (woof). the softy smooth play of light is bark on.

"Early walks are just a blur." by jomari

I like your statement and the eight legged dog (not voting, but I did step back, then come back, then faved this marvel)

"Wedded to stone Saint Florian sank." by clive_patric_nolan

I am happy to report I did not suffer the same dream like you had and so vigorously portrayed ("wedded to a stone" - how poetically cruel).

"Expect the unexpected the raven cried" by ashepp

great tree/bird similarity

"I drifted freely through the wind." by odriew

hauntingly bothersome. don't do that again, as people may watch just before bed time.

"I could live with Global Warming" by RianBotes

it takes a moment to note the pavement stones, which places the scene in a different context altogether.

"feeling small in a big world" by PennyStreet

that's true, and the dots make it hilarious

"My Life Continues, My Cigarette Ends." by MAK

somehow this tells a story of a lazy afternoon (maybe it's the remote control, but I am thinking it is probably the small table packed with stuff one may need to survive a few hours without moving much).

"Adversity is like a strong wind" by Silent-Shooter

I like how this is strikingly sharp yet unrevealing. The toning and negative space extend the drama.

"Cycling can cause a snack attack" by Rorschach

the bicycles scream ice-cream, and the dutch light on the pavement works well as always

edited for spelling and other fixes.

I'm SO pathetic about picking these winners, but I loved every one of the cited entries. I loved this challenge. Congrats to all who made the gallery and drew second and third looks.

I am honoured, don and mitalapo, and love the company.

Here is another one that spoke simply and most intimately to me:
"Yesterday. Or maybe the day before." by raish

Thank you Don! I had a feeling it just might appeal to you.

Thanks for the mention - it has been a while since I got a mention here so it feels extra good

Thanks for the ribbon Don! And for the wonderful comment mitapolo. Much appreciated!

as a newbie paying member, i am wondering how these Posthumous ribbons end up on profile pages. I see my image from Minimalist Landscape in the Posthumous Ribbons, Part IV thread (page 90), but not sure if it was just being discussed, or was awarded.

I've actually never looked at this thread till now, so i am not sure if any of my other photos have gotten a nod...

thanks in advance for clarifying ;-)

If you check the comments it was awarded, just add it to your profile if you are so inclined ;)
07/13/2011 06:15:20 PM · #2348
How do you actually add the posthumous awards to your profile? I got added to the posthumous fantasy art gallery but I can't see how to put it in. It doesn't have an ID link and copy paste only put in the word artpost jpg.
07/13/2011 06:31:48 PM · #2349
I used this one which I grabbed from the comment Don made on my photo.

[img]//blackyak.com/dpc/artpost.jpg

remove the space before the last ] and it will show the image.

If it's any other than the fantasy gallery award just click quote on the comment and copy the code for the appropriate bit for the image.
