Thanks I just wanted to share it... another interesting observation here is a surprisingly good "Digital" Zoom photo of a building on the Canyon wall at Hoover Dam... taken from atop of the Dam...DigitalZoom Ratio 2.20....I have been told that the D-Zoom is worthless..but with this example I thought different.. |

A real photographer would have been outside hanging from the landing gear to get a better view!
Just kidding. :) It is an interesting photo. Good job!

This must be the image you took hanging by your heels from the helicopter! Super photo. |

The digital zoom does not produce any more detail in the image than it had before the d-zoom. In most cases, the zooming in can be done much more cleanly, and with more control, by post processing software. The d-zoom in cameras are getting better, but they are not a replacement for a good image editing program, IMO. I just leave mine turned off, I'll crop it to size later if needed.

BTW: Nice pictures.

Kind of off the topic, but what does IMO stand for?
I think the first photo is very good. I like it a lot. I have never been there, but I want to go. Nice work! |

I've been over Hover dam many, many times and your images just convince me I need to take the helicopter flight. Great shots.
