Thanks I just wanted to share it... another interesting observation here is a surprisingly good "Digital" Zoom photo of a building on the Canyon wall at Hoover Dam... taken from atop of the Dam...DigitalZoom Ratio 2.20....I have been told that the D-Zoom is worthless..but with this example I thought different..

A real photographer would have been outside hanging from the landing gear to get a better view!

Just kidding. :) It is an interesting photo. Good job!

This must be the image you took hanging by your heels from the helicopter! Super photo.

The digital zoom does not produce any more detail in the image than it had before the d-zoom. In most cases, the zooming in can be done much more cleanly, and with more control, by post processing software. The d-zoom in cameras are getting better, but they are not a replacement for a good image editing program, IMO. I just leave mine turned off, I'll crop it to size later if needed.

BTW: Nice pictures.

Kind of off the topic, but what does IMO stand for?

I think the first photo is very good. I like it a lot. I have never been there, but I want to go. Nice work!

I've been over Hover dam many, many times and your images just convince me I need to take the helicopter flight. Great shots.
