| There's a problem with the date validation on the Best of 2009 Challenge. I've selected a date in 2009 and I get the message, "The date you have entered is outside the challenge dates". |

Just enter the 2010 dates. Only when your shot needs to be validated , SC will check the EXIF data from your original to see if it was shot in 2009 , etc. |

I too have encountered the problem.
I did the actual date and when that was denied - I tried several dates in 2009 including January 5, 9, and 15 of 2010 none worked.
I sent a ticket early this morning letting them know about the problem.

I just entered and it refused todays date and accepted the correct one.
I shall be interested to see how this scores. I love the shot but as painful experience shows, I can be the only one who does.
Oh, and by the way, it's not a tiger.

| Im confused with this best of 2009, when i load my favorite shot it will be in my profile cuz I have already posted it before, should i take it off my profile i guess? |

If it was already in a challenge, it's not eligible.
If it's just one you added for show, then there is no RULE that you must hide it. But it's good form to. |

| I uploaded mine yesterday and i only just twigged today that the photograph was taken exactly a year ago from posting. 20.01.09 - 20.01.10. Ha. |

If you try to submit a photo that is more than 800 pixels wide, will DPC's program prevent you? Or can it only recognize when a photo is over the max. KB?

both - file will be rejected if one of the dimensions doesn't meet the criteria (< 160 or > 800) or the file is too big.

Thanks, Colette. I was worried I might have accidentally exceeded the maximum width, but since my entry wasn't rejected, I guess I'm okay.
Funny, I'm still having second thoughts. I entered a photo several days ago which already had many portfolio views. I intended to rework it to take full advantage of the max file size, but didn't get a chance. Too late tonight for several reasons, so I guess I'll just bite the bullet and leave it. It'd be nice though to have the confidence I did my absolute best, rather than feel "If only I'd... ". |
