Hm. 15 hours in 3 days is pretty amazing. I put in over 30 hours for the 100 comments I did on the 1000th challenge, but over the whole week. |
What's your secret? :>)

I got possibly the best comment I've ever received....it's not often I'm praised for the technical merit of one of my shots! :) I'm really pleased with the way this challenge is going for me, I gotta say. |

lol. I only do it for very special occasions. These days, I only do between 25 - 50 comments on free studies, if I do any. I had to cut it down, it gets very, very difficult to keep fresh. |

KD, at least you don't do the same comment on 3/4 of the photos that say the Exact same thing.

If it is relevant to the photo, then I don't see where it would be that much of a problem. Also, I've looked at his comments, and while there's a lot of copy/paste, he does also take the time to individualize much of the time, and that's wonderful.
Both comments I've received from him are outstanding, so I can't be a part of whatever it is that makes people want to put him down for his efforts. |

who are you talking about KD?? I was referring to people in general that cut and paste.
Do we have a serial cut and paster here? |

i mentioned this in another thread, and it's probably been brought up a million times, but if people would just add a flag to their images title requesting no comments, maybe it would help out. people who are tired of receiving comments they don't seem to like wouldn't have to worry about them, and it would free up time for the people leaving comments because they could skip commenting a few photos. |

Oh, my bad. haha. There had been some talk earlier regarding TeaFran doing that. I, in my infinite wisdom, decided to assume that's who you were talking about.
I'll go hide now. |

wow should have read the rest of the thread before commenting on that subject.
Yes I can see many, many repeat comments from him, but I am sure we are all guilty of that!!!!!!!
So carry on Tea!!!

Kind of, and in the past that was usually addressed by SC (in general, cut and paste comments is not looked upon favorably). |

I can understand that, I try really hard to make a comment that tells a story about the picture I comment on. I have cut and pasted a couple of comments before though in challenges, but I can also understand that if you do it many, many times, what is the point of commenting. One is just reiterating the same thing, is it really worth it? |

Cut and pasting?
There is nothing wrong with that wrong with that wrong with that wrong with that wrong with that wrong with that

I understand what you are suggesting here, but at the same time, those who dispise comments just do not have to read them. If they are reading them, then there is a part of them that is interested in what others think. I also enjoy reading comments on other photos, so they are not just helpful for the photographer, but for others as well. I find it quite interesting to read other peoples point of view. I also find it very helpful to read comments to get an idea of what others think works and does not work in photos - I have used comments on other photos to help me in my own photos. But this is just my opinion. |

Ah, JulietNN, I got such a sincere comment on my Hidden Gem I was genuinely moved. Until I saw it word for word on about 20 other entries, which really wasn't such a lot considering the size of the challenge. Alas, so many gems remained hidden to this commenter that I am still genuinely moved. |

For what it's worth... I am somewhat new to this site and have been totally impressed (and somewhat intimidated) by the level of expertise and creativity that is here! Reviewing the comments that have been given to others has helped me to be more confident in what I need to do to make a good image (thanks). One of my goals is to get into the top 10% in a challenge. When I do, maybe then I will feel that I have enough experience to share with comments on others because I would like that my comment on others help, not hinder. Then, I suppose it's about personal taste too and how an image reaches out to your experiences. |
