I hit the Wings over Gillespie Airshow (our local small town feeling show) yesterday, the Static Displays and ground shots were begging for Topaz Adjust. Most bizarre edits I have done for an Airshow yet but thus far for the first couple of pages I've hit the shots with Topaz Adjust -> Clarity then Nik CEP3 -> Tonal Contrast, some have Nik CEP3 -> Darken/Lighten edges for really dreary effect. (only have a couple hundred more to go through).

I had heard of Topaz recently, but this thread is the first time I saw images manipulated with Topaz.
I bought it today and played a little...
Here is my first one:

Great shots Andy. I always seem to hear about the Gillespie Airshow after it's over darn it! You got some very creative shots, great distance shots, and the processing is excellent.

I was so focused on not entering this in the zoo challenge because I knew it was illegal, that I went and did something else and overlooked what made that one illegal- which caused it to be dq'd. How dumb was that?

Very nice work on those! The shots of the planes against the sky have a nice touch - almost 3d-ish but not overdone at all.

I had this in the freestudy and it bombed. I really like the processing for this as I think it works well for a band shot.

Hope it's OK to stick one in - I just got the free trial & trying to see what's possible- some very fine images here ...

For me, yes and no... It's just too FLAT, all evened out, no depth to it; this is a common problem with excessive tone mapping, and Topaz is basically tone mapping.

I am having a lot of fun exploring some of my old photos, some I have not looked at for years.

I'm having fun playing with portraits in Topaz!

Do i need CS4 to use Topaz? Can I use it with elements? Can i use it alone?
