Well, group. Struggling to get something 'good', but I continue to experiment. Perhaps by the end of the month it will all come together. For the first two shots below, I punched three pinholes side by side. Interesting, I think. I need to find the right subject for this technique. The third was shot into the sun, and appears I have some reflection off of the aluminum tape I was using on the lenscap. The forth.. Just a shot of the Short North area in Columbus Ohio.

and to answer bvy, the Lensbaby pinhole/zoneplate optic is really lensless. The new design makes the optics swappable out of a basic LB "frame", and so when you remove the optic you remove the lens. When you take out one of the other optics to put the pinhole/zoneplate optic in, you've removed any glass or plastic lens and replaced it with p/zp optic, which has no lens. |

tph1 left me this comment:
This is wonderful. Some of you are really able to ...see... a scene through ZP/PH eyes and then capture a great image. I'm impressed!
I just wanted to respond for the benefit of all - first, with a zoneplate, more light comes through so you can actually make out the image in your viewfinder - it's dim, but you can see enough for basic composition and some sense of what is sharpest in the photo (zoneplates, unlike pinholes need to be focused). But I also got a clip-on thing, kind of shaped like an eye cup, to put on the viewfinder which helps block out all light as you look through the viewfinder, and which makes the image in the viewfinder vastly easier to see and especially so when the image is dim to begin with. Even with the pinhole shots yesterday, I was actually able to see through the viewfinder for those as well - very, very dimly of course, more so than with the zp, but enough to have something to go on. |

The thought of going out in public lensless makes me cringe. Won't they arrest me for indecent 'exposures'??
*Grin*
Good stuff going on here in this side challenge. Very creative. |
