How about a challenge where we have to include some form of Graffiti.

Obviously we shouldn't do anything unlawful but there are some very good works of urban art out there.

Just a thought anyway and I couldn't find a previous challenge with this title.

So can I assume that not one of the DPC members thinks that urban art in the form of Graffiti is worth photographing?

Isn't that just photographing someone else's art?

that is a good point!
it would probably violate the 'existing artwork rule' on DPC.

it is an interesting subject matter for photographs though!

Or even something like this would be fun to photograph

(just click an image to make it larger)

this

These are street art paintings. Artist is Julian Beever and he does 3-D chalk art on the street.

Was just thinking something like this would be a good challenge topic. Good job I searched first!

Graffiti or Street Art.

Could be a good one.

Proper grafitti doesnt exist locally for me. Unles you count "I <3 PJ" or similar. Oh and lots of rude words scrawled in bad handwritting and spelt wrong! : )

I do like looking at others photos of proper street art/ graffiti though.

that's the case if you just take a photograph of the graffiti itself (resp duplicating/reproducing it). but we are more creative than that aren't we?

There's an alley all painted with graffiti very near home, I think I can find something interesting there.

They cleaned this one out :(

I really hope I can access this building again!

I am guessing a mural will be voted down as not being a graffiti or will something like this work? We have great place in town for some amazing murals!

Vikas asks a very important question, as I'm currently in the Miami Design District, there are tons of great murals that might be considered graffiti... But where does the line lay here? Does it have to be gang-style graffiti, or can it be more professional?

I've tried entering a couple in the past, did OK. Definately want to give this challenge an attempt. No shortage of subjects in Denver!
