I don't think 'Lonni' and 'ribbon winner' should be used in the same sentence... but a girl can dream, can't she? :)
My opinion of the tilted horizon challenge was that the general standard was pretty low, but there were some excellent standouts That will probably beat me out for a ribbon.
I guess I was generally biased by my dislike of tilted horizons. |

We all need dreams and one day they may come true! And a 7+ score would be v. nice for the team average.
Me I wont be helping the average, after getting down to 4.7 I'm moving slowly up again to 5.3.
So Action shots or Puzzle anyone??? |

I'm fairly certain I'm going to do puzzle. I have an idea brewing and im hoping I can pull it off. This morning I'm still on 7.19, and still pinching myself. How is everyone else going? |

Not too good I'm afraid.
I went to bed still sub 5 but have woken up to 5.1
I propably shouldn't have bothered this week at all, I just wasn't in the right frame of mind.
Glad to see the next challenges are advanced editting, that might help me out a little.
Looks like you may be carrying the team this week Lonni.
Good luck to everyone. |

I'm floating around the 5.6 mark after 60 odd votes.
We're not doing too badly... Lonni's effort this week should be enough to keep us in the game.
I'm more worried about this weeks challenges... I'm stumped to ideas on puzzled, and can't see me having too many opportunities for action shots this weekend. |

Well I am not doing so great in tilted horizon. I have been hovering around 5 and I have had 83 votes.
Iam looking forward to the next weeks challenge though and I already have a couple ideas I hope will work. |

Well I'm climbing 5.55 now, hopefully I can maintain that! Better than the 4.7's it hung around at the star anyway. Lonni hows the 7+ ribbon photo doing?
Got many ideas for the next ones. Will any pan out, I don't know but I can only try, was hoping to do an action shoot today but the person I was going to have be the "action" isn't in work till Monday. Will try some other ideas before then.

Hi Guys,
Congratulations Lonni on doing so well, I am delighted for you, and I soooooo.....hope it brings you a ribbon.
Sara I am so sorry to hear about your dog. It's so sad to lose an old friend.
I've popped in a few times to check out the team thread, and it's great to see how positive everyone is and how excited....I wanted to leave well wishes, but didn't feel comfortable.
I was away (without access to computer or internet) when all the who-ha was happening with the new team for the Olympics....and after reading some of it upon my return....I think that was the best place to be...away.
No-one from the previous Aussie team has commented or asked why I chose to play with the Olympian team (now that's and interesting thought...), and I think there has been enough time, enough grief, and enough drama in this country to put things in perspective, without creating a controversy.
I would like my previous team mates to know that I will be away from my home base for one month of this challenge, (almost half the challenge) and I am not sure if I will have access to computer or internet during this time, and therefore was not intending to play at all, as I felt it wouldn't be fair on my team mates.
I am so proud of how well we did last time and I believe that the Aussies did so well last time through consistency, and almost everyone had 100% entries for the entire competition.....we did really well against some teams that had exceptionally high averages per person.
I mentioned this to a few people, and I was invited to join another team where being away for half the competition would not be an issue, and I agreed to join that team ...(I might add, before I saw who my team mates were, and at that stage I wasn't actually sure that there would be a team..)
So I just wanted to say, Go Aussies!! Good Luck!
...Now there is just one other little thing that I would like to point out. Whilst the Olympians are there for their own individual reasons, and I love and admire each and everyone of them. I have never signed up to say that I would not be competetive......you can bet your sweet a..e that I will be looking to give 100% for each image that I get into competition, and I will be looking to do the best that I can...as always...so here's to kicking some Aussie Team a..e, individually, this time 'round. LOL!! ;P
Cheers
Barb
PS. I totally concede to Lonnie on the first one. LOLOLO!!!
PPS. Check out how dangerous I can be when I'm devoid of internet and computer access for awhile.

Hi Brat,
Thanks for dropping in, I really liked those you posted lean with such great detail an colors, good luck with the Olympics.
As for competition, as you can see we are lucky there is no dope testing in the DPCO, Lonni has been trying out some experimental Photographic Enhancing Substances, and will be sending them off to the rest of the team, were going to make those easter block women weight lifters look like ballerinas in comparison to our new skills in these games, so bring it orn :):)

Thanks Barb for the well-wishes and for sharing your shots. Very nice indeed!
I personally think it's great that we have some country-men (and women) to compete with. I'm soooo cometitive by nature, and this is challenging me to compete harder than ever before :)
Speaking of the competition guys - I have posted a shot for critique in the Google Group - I need comments ASAP, because I am running out of time to re-shoot (details in the group). dzone has already made a comment, but I'd appreciate more if you have a chance. |

I've got one in action shot. Was going to try for puzzled but didn't have enough time to execute my idea properly. Have been so sad for my dog since wednesday, it's hard to be motivated to take photos. I'm pretty happy with my entry. I'm not 100% sure how to post my image in the google group so if anyone really wants to see it they will have to explain it to me.
Hope you are all having success both in this weeks challenge and in coming up with something for the next one.

I've been sitting on 5.25 for the last two days. I think that's a pretty clear indication of where it will end up. Hopefully action will do better.
How is everyone else travelling? |
