Just click on the "Search" tab in the upper right corner and you get several options: Artists, Photos, Forum topics and OEmail.

Also note you have to be logged in to do a search. The option does not show otherwise.

We were just talking the other day about the difference between DPC images and 1x images. I've just had a DPC ribbon winner published, see both below;

DPC -

1X -

I like the 1x version much better :) It's straight, and has more texture. Don't you think that it would have appealed to the DPC crowd?

I agree - it's much better :)

Rejected, I don't think it made it to the voting as there are no comments.

I think it would have.

The latest of 26 rejections, all without comments/having gone to member screening.

I don't know about DPC appeal, but the 1x version is a MUCH stronger image IMO, very much more powerful and evocative.

I think this point has been already made earleir in this thread, bit still.. aside from the technical level (which on average is undoubtedly much higher over there) the big difference is that voters on this site highly appreciate good quality commercial stuff (what you use in advertizements), and 1x audience shuns it completely. So their gallery mostly features photos you might see in art galleries, not in mail-order catalogs. This is not to say that there are no great artistic photos on DPC, of course :)

True sometimes.......

Much more of a commercial appeal image was published:

No commeercial appeal at all and it was rejected:

That image transcends a lot of boundaries. It rates a 10 on the cuteness scale, not to mention the dogs expression and infinite patience, is truly something special. I love that shot and glad there are exceptions to the rules but generally they do seem to shy away from the commercial stuff.

Thanks Steve.....I agree with your statement. I actually love that the DON'T typically like the commercial stuff.

I loved that shot too at 1X, I think I favorited it there (if not, I should have :)). Originality of concept and good-natured humor count for a lot everywhere, so I was not surprised by it being approved. Besides, if it was BW and without the flowing ribbons (I actually would take them away to make it slightly more subtle), I could mistake it for an Erwitt photo (and Eriwtt is hardly commercial)

Another one ...not third-worldly enough, Steve? :)

They rejected my DQ deer shot. I'm actually at only 16% acceptance. But I have to admit that they do have some stellar stuff on there.

Is anyone else having problems on the site? I haven't been there in a long time but today I decided to upload a photo. I logged in, then when I clicked on my account I had to log in again. Then when I wanted to see what photos I had uploaded (and were rejected) I had to long in again. Then when I wanted to submit a photo I had to log in again! I submitted a photo but instead of taking me to the page to view it and enter the details it took me to the login page again. I can't upload a photo and when I tried to send an email to one of the site crew I was again directed to login. I wrote the email and when I hit submit I was taken to the login page again. Very frustrating!

where do you get the 'reason' for reject ? I don't seem to see any on my rejected images.

If there is no reason/comments listed under the image, then it did not make it to member screening. I find that frustrating, but I understand they screen a lot of images. Too bad the original screener can't use the drop down menus that we see in member screening.
