Well I guess that leaves us folks who do nto have people willing to model for us right out in the cold then. No worries, I'll just forget about my membership and long time of entry here and go find somewhere that actually embraces different styles instead of expecting conformity.

Don't forget... DPC has an underground...

And some people on DPC should be under ground.

lovethelight Kicks serious ass - I've been a fan of her stuff for a long time. If I had more imagination/ talent I'd like to think my style would develop that way. Keep it up!

Boo ya! =)

Besides, the conformity you speak of isn't all bad - consider the phrase "learn by example".

And for those who are unable to follow the example? What then? Departure, that's what.

Unable? What if people just plain do not want to follow the example?

Just do what the hell you want. Why is that so hard to fathom? Everyone seems to wnat to be Claire McAdams or Joey Lawrence or Larus Sig... what's wrong with just being who you are doing what you want?

I think I will stick a fork in this thread - it's done.

**edit: nevermind, don't wanna disturb the status quo.

My apologies for the rant, I just hate even the appearance of being told what to do creatively.

Claire is a first class photographer...I too am a HUGE fan...I think her style is unique to her and for her age, she is inspirational...go Claire! And Jennifer, who is also SUPER YOUNG has a wonderful freshness to all she does...well done Jennifer...

I really enjoy what lovethelight is bringing to DPC these days. I think it would be a great direction for us to move. It's fun to look back at the top ribbon winners for past years and look for themes. 2008 felt different than 2007. 2009 will feel different than 2008. I like the portrait sensibility Clair brings and also, if I may boast about a fellow Northwesterner, njsabs2323. This direction would, of course, be bad for me, but good for DPC. :)

In the future, please refrain from any attempts to disturb the status quo here at DPC. We fear change.

Too late, the idea is spreading, there's two other threads like it already. Ah well, there's always the other challenge site I found and managed to get a first place in.
