I have only received one comment from the Magnificent One ( Langdon) himself....

"Does not meet the challenge." Haha!

Otherwise, my only goal for 2009 is...to improve my sense of humor. I pretty much achieve that goal with every challenge entered.

Hmm, nothing about fainting less. Langdon better add to his goals to buy more pillows.

I don't normally set goals as I fail miserably everytime.

But I have one for this year.

Get a Sigma 50-500mm or 150-500mm for Wildlife project.

1. Shoot and enter photos that please me, while avoiding cliche.
2. Do it well enough to always score above my previous averages.
3. Make my comments more genuinely helpful to the photographers.
4. Be more constructive and collaborative in my forum posts.

- Enter every free study
- Learn the strobist thing and control light effectively
- Make effective use of my new macro lens
- Do some portraits
- Make more helpful comments
- Try some street shots

*Raise my Average to 5.65
*7.0+ score
*Compete in at least 24 challenges this year, icluding all the Free Study ones
*Do better in the Free study marathon this year
*Do at least 1 side challenge
*Give 2300 comments
*Get another ribbon (maybe blue and yellow so my red one has some company, lol)
*Get 175 photo favorites

1) Have a higher overall average score at the end of the year
2) Ribbon
3) Participate more in the forums
4) Get un-achieved goals from 2008 accomplished as well

1. Enter 18 challenges this year.
2. Vote 18 challenges this year.
3. Comment/Critique 500 pics.
4. Do 2 DPC GTGs.
5. Raise my average score by .25
6. Take my time and take better photographs.
7. Learn better editing techniques.

1-enter in all the free studies.
2- give less of a crap about my scores than I do now and do it for me, not the 3-second-view-then-vote-from-the-hip crowd.
3- do more 'digital-art stuff' because it's a lot of fun!

Get another ribbon.
Get 3 top 10 finishes.
I got 12 shots that scored 6+ in 2008 - match this in 2009
Beat 7 on a shot.
Get my all-time average score to 5.5555.
My average of shots in 2008 was 5.5815 - maintain or better this in 2009.
Break my PB.
Have my top 5 shots above 6.8.
Receive 1000 comments during 2009 (i.e. 1902 received all-time)
Make 2000 comments during 2009 (i.e. 3777 made all-time)
Cast 3500 votes during 2009 (i.e. 9449 all-time)
Be a talking point - get more than 25 comments on one shot at least once.

- Have my vote count @ 25,000
- Get my comments made to 2000
- Comments received to 1000
- 25 favourites :)
- Shoot as often as possible :)

Been meaning to update my profile for some time... having recently renewed my membership, I thought I'd take the opportunity to do so now.

My 2009 Goals are:

- have a score of more than 6.0 for my top 5 photos
- pay for my own membership this year } big thank you to Moose408 for gifting me my last membership
- gift a membership to a deserving non-member
- have a photo do better than 6.0 in a Free Study challenge
- have a photo do better than 7.0 in a challenge
- win a DPC ribbon
- participate in each of the 2009 Free Studies (commiting to the FSM helps)
- keep my average vote received for 2009 above 5.5 (was going to make it to get my overall average above 5.5, but I need to be realistic with the goals I set myself)
- get my comments given up to the level of my comments received and keep them there
- participate in more of the monthly side challenges

I'm really looking forward to spending another year on DPC... expanding and improving my photographic and processing skills, and interacting with a brilliant group of genuinely nice people.

1. Find the motivation to enter once in a while.
2. Get back to the creative photos before I'm completely forgotten.
3. Rinse, repeat.

Goals
1) Have a higher overall average score at the end of the year (Jan 1 2009 - 5.7539)
2) Ribbon for Apple II
3) Participate more in the forums (try to have 400+ posts by the end of the year)
4) Score above 7 Skin
5) Get in the top 25 in a Free Study challenge
6) Be the favourited photographer of 20+ people
7) Have a streak of 5 or more 6+ photos
8) Have 30+ comments made on a photo during a challenge Hidden Gem Challenge

So far, 1 and 3 are on track... but I wont know them until the end of the year. Id say Im pretty happy with how I have been achieving my goals so far :)

1. I'd like to win a yellow ribbon. (my favorite color)
2. Comment more often, and enjoy doing so.
3. Participate in more side challenges (I have participated in 2 this year, off to a good start)
4. Win a ribbon in a FS (well a girl can dream)

1. Get a minimum score of 6 in all FS challenges
2. Get a third Ribbon, (hey, you got to have dreams)
3. Take a photo that receives a score above 7
4. Take a photo that beats my PB, (the BIG goal!)
5. Increase my 'Average Vote Received' score of 6.0 to 6.1
6. 50 selections as 'Favorite Photographer'
7. 300 selections of 'Favorite Photograph'
8. Have an image on the Canon EOS-40D 'Highest Rated Photographs' page
9. Have an image on the Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM for Canon lens 'Highest Rated Photographs'page

Should be easy! ;)
