What's going on? 11 hours to deadline, only 30 in the member challenge? Did I miss a boycott or what?

| We've had bad weather here for a while. I have a shot in mind that I will try for again today, but it's raining off and on right now. Then again, how do you take a picture of something you want if you don't have it to shoot? |

I did consider this challenge - but ran out of time.
I guess I could go out now in the car (in the cold and dark), or I could stay indoors and say - Good Luck to the top 30 finishers :- )

I just got power back, after being without it for over a week and through a snow storm that dropped 12" of snow on the ground. Now another storm is brewing outside that is supposed to drop 16" more on the ground. Would love to play along in the challenge, but i am waiting for batteries to charge up again and just dont see it happening.

Maybe I started a trend? I've already submitted my last shoehorn for the year, however. I have to admit though, that if Santa brought me a shiny new shoehorn, I would be happy. My old one got pretty beat up in '08. |

Well, I'm Jewish as well, but my wife is not, so I get to participate via marriage. You could enter a lenscap shot for the "nothing" concept. |

The challenge description lets us all participate:
"Create a photographic representation of what YOU want for Christmas (or your next Birthday, if you don't celebrate Christmas)."
I know some religions don't do birthdays, or Christmas, now that I think about it.
How about the next time you have extra money to spare... what would you get yourself?

Shiny is not a prerequisite -- I have a really nice, long-handled bamboo one with a shoehorn blade at one end and a backscratcher at the other. |
