I am surprised at how many people, including Slippy, that use the wrong method. The method Slippy used and the rest of the videos I watched of the same thing, all go after brute strength as the method - tearing the pages apart. When if you just hold the book in landscape format, spread the pages and rip at the thin end you will rip it every time.
Ok, I know. Show us. If I had a video cam I would. Anyone on this site who has at least some muscle tone can do it via this method. Just hold the book, curl the edge so it goes from thin to thick from the bottom to the top while in your hand, then rip.
The key is that you start ripping where the pages are thinner and once you get the tear going it doesn't matter how many pages are there, you will tear through them - as long as you have the physical strength to tear through at least a few pages - needed to get the tear going.
Other than that, your daughter is the star for sure. Slippy, sorry, you failed to impress your daughter. Your wife, well...hope you have other avenues.

I recall seeing this done and the method used was quite different. You take the book and hold it landscape with the spine facing away from you. You then break the spine by bending, this also tears the pages and you continue tearing towards you and it is torn in half.
It's that easy:) Or so I am told. Of course, I don't have time to do a demo video as I am too busy growing a beard for my Xmas job.:) |

I don't know which was funnier, the first or the rematch LMAO!!! Love the dance at the end of the second. Actually I was even wondering if you were gonna get the yellow pages ripped out of the book lol.
by the way...myth busters even got into the act of this, he looks like he does it upside down from what other people do, not sure if that makes it easier or not.
