I have an idea for a straight picture, but its more of straight as a theme instead of "including all straight lines" It will certainly have straight lines in it, but would also include other things... will I get burned for this? Are the best entries going to be more abstract?
I'm asking because I recently didn't read a challenge description... |

I personally would go for it, I think I'll do something similar myself. |

in all honesty, I think it totally depends on how well you pull off your shot ... if it's got a total "water drop wow factor" then I'm sure you'll do well, even if it's more conceptual and has other elements than straight lines in it ... do a poor job of pulling it off and I think you'll be in for a long week and a bad score ... |

"Challenge Details: Capture an image that includes only straight lines. "
So, I'm thinking the non-DNMC images will contain only straight lines.

i entered this in the lines I challenge - and scored exactly in the middle of the range....
i entered this in lines II - and scored 4th. go figure ;}
of course 'straight' wasn't part of the challenge in those, but predominantly they have straight lines.

I wish the challenge TITLES had included the word "only" -- as in "Straight Only" and "Twisted Only." For some reason I had overlooked the full description. I'll probably not submit my entry after all, because it for sure contains both straight and twisted lines. |

Oh, go for it!
Do it 'cause you like it and want to, and the Hell with the voters!
Do you like it?
Do you think it's a cool take on the idea?
Enter it then!

agreed.... I like scoring higher on challenges, and I've never ribboned, but I certainly enter just to see what happens most of the time. |
