My idea would involve anything beyond normal clothes or outdoors for such a purpose so I wouldnt be much help.
What I would do is................
Dark room black backdrop and floor. Strobe high above pointed down with a snoot. Have her in whatever she would normally dance in and perform in the sweet spot of the strobe. Several poses and forms. And chose from the best.

yeah see that would be my thinking too.. maybe not in those tech. equiptment terms..lol but that general idea..
however that's not what mom wants.... mom wants outside, dress clothes not dance clothes.. so i'm cluless as to why they want that in a dance review book.. but what ever creams the twinkie..

As to your dilemma, I have no ideas. Sorry. |

What kind of dancing does she do? Does her mom want her doing any kind of dancing in the photos?
My first thought was at a school with a jungle gym. Depending on the type of dancing you could use the equipment as props. If mom doesn't want her dancing, it's still an appropriate place to do a photo shoot for a 5 year old. |

ended up doing them at her house.. looked at abook from last ear she had.. based on those pics.. she could have just done it herself with a point and shoot.. but anyhow..
mostly wanted head shots, casual/dressy pics.. normal picture..
I'll post when I edit.. it was an extreamly LOOOOOng 2 hour hour attempt to get pictures with a 7 yr old who did not want her picture taken.. yeah i had the age wrong.. |

When discussing a 5 year old girl, the phrase "creaming the twinkie" should never pass your lips. It just sounds wrong is so many ways. |

thank you, they did like it. I have to go print it out today for them so they can turn it in for the add in the book.
my confidence went way up once I saw the book from last year... yeah no creativity in anyones except maybe 1 or 2. basically what people did was got scrapbook paper if that and cut out sayings from a mag. or got them from a store, TAPED them on there with a picture or 2 of the kid that was taken with P&S TAPED that on there copied it on regular paper in black in white and turned it in....
yeah.. you could see the tape, you could see where those who wrote something on it erased and wrote again.. |
