Sorry to post all at once, but I'm a time challenged procrastinator. :D

Hopefully I will get to do some more commenting this evening.

Ok, not really managed to shoot any more portraits yet ... but here is an environmental portrait I took today

I'm not 100% happy with these, I am working with a new Flash diffuser, and I'm not sure I softened the shadows enough. I got tired of the Fong Dong and am going to sell it as soon as I get the handle on the new diffuser.

Not going to comment on each one, but I'm of the opinion that you softened the shadows too much. What you've ended up with here are portraits that are really flat and have no energy to them. No dynamic. Take your self-portrait in your profile for instance. A great use of lighting and shadow there. In these, there's just not a lot of anything IMO to really grab me.

#6 - I know. Honest, this is the last child portrait. I swear.

I haven't been as active as I thought I would be... but here's one from today. I suppose I could post some outtakes later.

I've actually got #s 9 and 10 taken; I'm still "working" on them, though. :)

Anyone around... ? I think the comment well has dried up.

I might pathetically fail to complete the side challenge. We shall see, but the month is drawing to a close pretty quick.

I'm going to fail it. I gave up trying to get people to pose for me, it was getting too frustrating and irritating.

I'll go back to my once every 6 months family photo shoots I guess.

I'll get caught up on comments before the month is out. I have some portraits tentatively scheduled for tomorrow so I should have more to post.

I have more I shot today but I probably won't have time to process them before the end of the month. This has been quite the learning experience!

Alright, I finished it. So I had to use the kids to do so, but I'm not going to feel guilty about that. Andie was on her game today!

Oh, and a bonus shot to show that Little Miss Moody *can* smile now and again:

Well I have two other images that I would prefer to use, but I can't post them, until the next two challenges are completed, as they would give my entries away. This is not quite the head and shoulders portrait....but it was an image that I considered for Free Study.

Ok, I'm a slacker. Here are my final 5 now. I'm only just getting in by the end of the month, and that's only on server time!

Now to make some more comments...

I guess that I am not much of a "people shooter" either. Even with the easy task of getting 10 good people shots in a whole month, it just didn't happen. It's been a work a lot month, and I have not been in the right groove to get people to do much more than a few candid shots.
Thanks for comments, and I hope that some of the ones that I made during the first week or two were helpful.
I will be seeing some of you in the upcoming macro S C. I am a lot better at getting macro shots than at getting people shots, so I may do ok with that S C.

With the end of this side challenge, I want to take some time to thank everyone for their wonderful comments and contributions. It was a pleasure to see some wonderful and interesting works. I hope I was helpful in some of my comments, or at the very least, that some insight was offered somewhere. I know that I got some great comments that opened my eyes to some things, and the confidence boost was great too.

Congratulations to everyone that finished, and to the others, keep trying! We procrastinators need all the help we can get. lol.
