| do you ever have a photo where your like 'damn this is going to do really good' and you try not to hope for it cause thatws a jinx and that chaallenge opens and... you suck. does that happen to anyone besides me? |

Yes. Strangely its the ones where I think, its pretty good (not great mind you) that do the best for some reason.

I lurked around the site for quite awhile before deciding to join. When I joined, I made a deal with myself. I made a deal that I wouldn't invest any emotion into any of the photos I chose to enter into challenges here. That I would enter them with one thing and one thing on my mind, and that was how to become better at meeting the challenge that is this website.
This means learning to understand it. To understand the users. The voters. The trends, then use them to my advantage.
Time will tell if I'll be able to do it, but so far, through two challenges, I've been able to. I've been able to utterly separate myself from the image I've entered, so as not to judge it myself, but to let it be judged by others.
so 3.5, or 7.5, I'm just going to be glad that I learned something. |

Sorry but im getting tired of the trends- I would name a few trends but I fear that I would offend people who entered the purple challenge

| Yeah... I see a lot of those shots. I'd like to give some feedback along the lines of "good job, but I've seen it too many times before" but I don't want to offend anyone. I just rate it and move on... Is that bad of me? |

Just because it's been done before doesn't mean that the photographer in question has done it before. Something to think about. Just because something has been done before doesn't mean a spectacular execution isn't spectacular.

Right on! That's what I like to reply to those who say the idea as already been done. I think it's part of the learning process and should be encouraged.

Not a bad jumping off point now lets hope for a raise!!...Beat my best with last weeks challenge and I worked my fingers purple for this one... literally they are purple and half way up my arm too...lol But I will share more after the challenge...lol

Gee, there are a lot of images that are so saturated in 'magenta' or other tones, and a little overdone, but also some excellent ones as well. Interesting to see how this one pans out.
Just finished my first run of 100% votes, but will be going through them again, to leave some comments.
