Who the heck buys a gorgeous photographic instrument like a D3, clicks the shutter less than 100 times, and then decides to sell it? Sheesh...

Some people believe that buying an expensive camera will make taking good pictures automatic. Then they see that taking good pictures is hard, no matter how much you spend on the camera... and give up.

Wish I had known that before I bought the 40D.... Ain't giving up though... Sooner or later a good picture just has to pop out. You know, put enough monkeys behind a camera, and sooner or later one will win a ribbon. Or was that typwriters and write Shakespear? |

I second that. Maybe he bought it without telling the wife, and she is pissed off? Maybe his transmission fell off his truck? Could be a million reasons.
Or maybe he has tons of money and bought both Canon and Nikon at the same time, tried 'em both, and (naturally) realized the Nikon can't compete so he's unloading it?

Or maybe his mind is too adept to Canon mediocrity to be able to handle the mindblowing awesomeness of a D3 :P
And I mean, I've heard of people having crap come up in life and needing to sell some stuff to get money (btw anyone wanna buy a gaming PC so I can afford books for college? XD)... But $5K is a serious investment, and not one to make lightly, as this person must've. Maybe it's just a plain old case of the stupids. |

There are a lot of people neck deep in dept. He could have paid for it by CC and needs cash NOW with no other way of getting it; he has maxed his borrowing ability and can't get a loan for his immediate need.

Maybe he decided to buy the D3 and assumed he could make so much money on micro-stock that he would have it paid off before the bill came in.
