I'm such a geek! I had to stay up until rollover to see my high contrast score, as I'm inching closer to the elusive 6.0! lol We've all got to have small goals, right! :-)
Another from over the weekend. The vast majority of the editing was actually done in the raw conversion, something I'm glad I finally took the time to at least try and understand.

i went for a walk today and took more photographs of the caterpillars, but rather than bore you with more of the same i'll put a wasp in that i photographed yesterday ...

i took a whole heap of photographs of these wasps which wont be on this nest much longer ..
i decided to put a flower on the nest yesterday so i could get a more intersting photograph ..
for some stupid reason i usually start processing on the photographs which arent the best .. this is one of them ..

Well, I'm getting almost caught up on comments and it's time for me
to put in an edit!
but before I do, I'm gonna get a little serious for a moment. Because this is a learning
side-challenge, I am thankful when people tell, at least approximately, what they
did to get from "Point A" to "Point B". I don't think anyone is going to copy what
anyone else does, but these explanations are a great help in developing our own techniques.
So, for the rest of the month, I'll look forward to commenting just on those images whose makers
tell us how they got there.
But you can be sure I, for one, will look at, and appreciate, them all.

Perfect timing -- I just finished typing extensive details on my latest :-)
The only thing you can't replicate is the precise control points on the RGB Curve (which I can post if anyone wants to know), and the noise-reduction algorithm applied.
This was taken under circimstances which would normally yield family snapshots (got some of those too!), but I hope this goes at least a bit beyond ...

I guess we're all different. I don't read anyone's steps - only comment on what I see. I honestly don't have the time to put most of the steps in except for general stuff. I am in the middle of moving and my work keeps me way too busy, so I'm lucky enough just to get something up (and I have every day so far!!) |

I'm sure that no-one is interested in the steps I've taken, just as much as they're not interested in my pictures anyway.
