But with so many challenges in it's next to impossible for me to move my average with a few challenges.

I'm a tad confused on the logistics of this:

Is it the first three people, in order of signup, that raised their average? Is it the top three who raised their averages the most? Is it a randomized list, and the first three you come to that raised their average...?

Please elucidate. :D

Concept is very simple. I will list all the people with their average received votes. For example, your average received vote is 5.9691 right now. At the end of this thing, your average received vote goes up to 6.0013, difference is 0.0322+

Also, again from starting top, I will check who is not member, but registered user. First one comes in order, will get a free one year membership from me.

you should probably average the last challenges together (separate from previous challenges) then compare that number to their average before this starts. otherwise people with lots of entries won't see much change even if the do really well, and those with only a few entries may see more significant changes with comparable scores. does that make sense?

Totally agree. When you've entered a lot of challenges, no matter what score you get your average hardly moves.

Oops. I thought this was like the beat your average concept, not raise your average.

In the end it doesn't matter, I still want to play. :-) Although raising my average with nearly 600 in now is a substantial challenge.

Please don't think I'm complaining - what you're doing with the hat giveaway contest is way cool. :-D

i'm perfectly happy with just entering the competition. it's hard to not beat those stats with a minimal amount of effort...right?

love the pressure. thrive on it. especially self-applied.

I agree also. At first I thought the challenge was to see how high you could score over your average on a single image. If the challenge is to see how much you can raise your overall average, I have no shot. I could ribbon three times with 8+ scores and could finish midpack. I would vote for taking an average over the last 10 to 20 challenges and use that as each person's baseline to improve upon. This would make for as even a playing field I can think of for this contest.
