That sounds okay with me.
I dunno if I'll EVER see 185......I think/HOPE that's below what's right for my height & build.
I'm certainly willing to keep on checkin' in......I know I want to lose no less that about 40 pounds yet.

Hey guys,
Haven't been posting because I've been crazy busy at work and kind of fell off the losing weight thing. Have managed to keep the little bit that I lost off and am hoping to lose some more once things get a little more sane at work.
Congrats to everybody, though. Looks like people are doing great.

Well, I didn't come anywhere near my goal, but a lot of things happened because of this thread/weight loss goal.
IF YOU ARE A MENOPAUSAL WOMAN STRUGGLING TO LOSE WEIGHT, I urge you to research biodentical hormone therapy.
My inability to lose weight in spite of staying very devoted to a better eating plan, and trying to do at least some very moderate exercise (problems with my knee), lead me to go to the doctor.
I ended up at a doctor who specializes in bioidentical hormone therapy, and WOW, I can't even tell you how much my life has changed in the last 10 days since I started the bioidenticals! I feel like a different person already.
Since starting menopause, I had gained weight, become depressed and really rather apathetic. I had chronic insomnia, and was tired ALL the time. A lot of days, I didn't even feel like getting out of bed. I always felt kind of "foggy" and unable to focus. Now I know why...
My labs came back and showed some rather startling results:
Optimum Progesterone levels should be between 100-500; my results: 19
Optimum Testosterone levels should be between 16-55; my results: <5
Optimum DHEAS levels should be between 2-23; my results: <.1
The moment he met me, the doc said that with levels like that, he's surprised I could even get out of bed each morning.
SO...I started on bioidentical hormone replacement - I chose BodyLogicMD as my prescriber since they came highly recommended from a women that I met at photography school in May. She told me about the changes in her since she started on the same hormone therapy and convinced me to see a doctor.
(Bioidentical hormones are exactly the same hormones, molecule per molecule that your body produces. They are made in a lab but are still considered natural to your body because they are identical. Synthetic hormones are also made in a lab, but most importantly are not identical to your body. Bioidentical hormones are far superior to types of synthetic hormones commonly prescribed.)
Sorry so long, but this has been HUGE for me, and I can't stress enough how much different I feel in just 10 days!
Congratulations to all of you who did so well, you really helped keep me going each week!
Thanks so much,
Linda

So, who lost the most, and what charity to do we need to contribute to?
:)
And yes, I'm going to keep weighing in on Friday's and keep going with this thread. If anyone wants to join me, feel free! |

I lost 16 lbs from when we started. I'll continue to post as well, until I get to my real goal weight. I knew I wouldn't reach it by now, so I'll keep going too. |

I'm game to keep posting........having people to talk to, work with, and travel this path together makes it easier than fighting it alone.
I truly appreciate the camaraderie and support that's been apparent in this thread.
I have a ways to go yet and since I want to live long enough to annoy my daughter for years to come, I intend to keep at this.
I lost 20.6 pounds, 3.4 shy of my target, but I'm still happy.

I am heart broken... I had hoped to be down from 236lbs to 220lbs, but managed to float down to 230lbs and now back up to 235lbs. Perhaps if I could get more use out of my left leg and actually walk regularly I might attain my goal.
All is not lost... I have hope.

Ray, what about swimming? Fantastic exercise, and you can do some moves without your leg. |

Did an official winner ever get designated?
Are we still on board for the donation to a charity?

I hit 248 today.
That's the first time I've been under 250 in about 15 years.

69.1 (as of last Friday's scale reading with personal 11.5 pounds lost).
Also wondering about the winner and the charity donation.
