I've gotten the same thing. It's a little frustrating that some folks will DNMC anything bigger than a sensor (and insist on some other things that don't really define 'macro'). But then again, I guess I should know by now that the challenge title matters more than the challenge description details. :\

I wasn't expecting anything fancy, but I certainly didn't think I'd score this low. Wow. Guess I should have posted the score when it was at a 5.0 - briefly. I think I'll crawl back to that rock I was hiding under now *whimper*. |

*woke up this morning and suddenly thought- that I'd like to see a -photo- of someone sitting on their score :) *LOL* sorry- random i know... but... did anyone get a mental picture? :) darn i didn't get enuff sleep.... wish i could have kept the voters from voting while I slept last night- oh well... onto the next challenge! *LOL*

Well I am now thinking cute, different does not account for much here. At least not for me. Woke up to another low score on a photo that I found to be very interesting that I stumbled on by accident. Oh Well, I think I may just stick with some side challenges for awhile and keep working on my skills.

I am starting a contest for this challenge. Whoever gets the blue will get a DPC hat from me. One condition, I am adding  JMart's rule into it. Blue ribbon winner will not have bugs, flowers or water. Meaning any kinds of bug life, or plant life and water (liquid, just to be politically correct). Also, there won't be hat if you already got one from me which I count only 5 people so far.
Win a ribbon with these requirements, I will send you a free DPC hat :)

Keep being different and imaginative! If every photographer produced only what was acceptable, religiously following every rule, there would be no creativity and no delightful surprises! :)

I too fell victim to a "it's not a macro shot" despite the fact it truly is. Oh well, not to worry. I'm still in hat range although I'm pretty sure there are higher scores out there.

You have front of the hat so far... I am not sure if there are 7+'s out there yet.
Mine is true macro, not too close to make it "Abstract" macro though... which I could, but since this wasn't an "abstract" macro challenge I didn't. |
