Can someone please advise me if they know where to purchase the product RaineX - Rain-X an American product, or Nanotec an Australian Product similar to RaineX.

Robert Banmorn and many other DPC users use this product to get the water to bead on glass for reflections in photography.

I searched the web and contacted to companies but not sure if the product they have will do this like RaineX

Hope someone can help and advise me where I can get this product in Australia.

Someone on the web also suggested Mr. Sheen a polish for furniture may also work as a water repellent. Soes anyone have any knowledge of this.

Thanks heaps.....

It's spelled without the 'e' and I can't find it sold anywhere other than the U.S. and the UK. The U.S. website had an option to look for international stores and all I found was the U.K.. You might be able to order from this website in England. .

edit to add: Nevermind. They don't deliver outside of the U.K. according to the tab at the top of that website that says "Buy online for home delivery"

Here is where I found the sites in England. Maybe you can look at the other ones on this list and see if they'll ship to Australia.

If there's a local automotive supply store near you, look there. First choice would be a water repellent specifically for glass. Second choice, a compound intended for "renewing" the look of faded plastics. Look for a product that contains silicones. Wipe it on, polish it off.
An alternative to the silicone-based material is any good car wax. Apply as directed, buff dry, and you should get beading galore.

Another idea is to try it on acrylic instead of glass. While framing some pics I noticed that the water I was using to clean the acrylic was really beading up. Acrylic carries a charge (which is why it attracts so much dust) and you can use it to your advantage.

Add Glycerine to your water. It helps it hold together and is the secret ingrediant to those monster bubbles some people make. You can get Glycerine in drug stores, places that sell cake decorating supplies (it's used in icing amoung other things) or places that sell soap making supplies (lots of it in soap).

Or supermarkets, certainly in Woolworths and I'd guess in Coles and others as well.

Gee THANKS everyone for all your good advice.....

I went on to the web after my email from Robert banmorn and contacted two places. Within an hour I received a reply from a company based in Sydney, via email. The information he gave me was brilliant and he is the wholesaler of a product that beads on glass perfectly.

I look up his web site, but found it hard to navigate, so asked for more information. He instantly phoned me at his cost and gave me the information I needed and I brought it directly at a reasonable cost, It will be delivered in two to three days.....

He was an amazing guy and also gave me some information about RainX which is also suitable but not as good as his product. While searching the web came across a number of concerns about RainX as it can cause more long term damage to the windows and windscreen of our car so be careful with it.

The suppliers name is;

Gary Day, PhD, MBA General Manager
Nanotec Pty. Ltd.
Unit 9, 108 Old Pittwater Road
Brookvale, NSW 2100
Ph: +61 2 9905 8111
Fax: +61 2 9905 8144
Mob: +61 413 441 276

Email: gary.day@nanotec.com.au

Web: www.nanotec.com.au
Shop: www.nanoshop.com.au

The name of the product is called;

We have exactly the product you need for glass, called Nanoprotect GC.
We also have a product for windscreens called Nanoprotect AG and which
comes in a smaller pack size (30 ml).

Both work on all types of glass.

Hope this information can help others here in Australia.....

Once again Thanks everyone.....

shez

I am so looking forward to having a go at some bubbles and maybe some reflections, as I have always found it so awesome, especially banmorn images..... I also like the idea of using glycerine into the water to make larger bubbles.
