All I know is if it doesn't meet the challenge I'll give it a 1. :( |

Aaaargh. What to do??? |
wait - so you are saying you meet the challenge by not entering a picture? BRILLIANT! So everyone who doesn't enter will then tie for first place and get a blue ribbon, WOOHOO! BLUE RIBBONS FTW! |

That would be "Does Not Meet Description" not DNMC. |

The only logical thing to do would be to vote everything a 5. 10 points for meeting and 1 point for not meeting so average 5. |

Check your math. That'd be a 5.5.

Maybe we could submit ones that fit other challenges....since we always have someone who submits to the wrong challenge... |

we can't vote 11 or 0 though so half way to 10 is 5.
This reminds me of a trick my grandpa pulled when I was a little kid. He said he has 11 fingers and would hold up one hand and count down from 10 then add the fingers on the other hand "See, 10,9,8,7,6 plus 5 on this hand is 11!". I was blown away!

I'm thinking that the only way to not DNMC in this challenge would be to literally photograph the actual letters, but that would meet the challenge, and not be DNMC, so what the heck do ya do?
I going to submit something off the wall, and expect that my overall average will be taking a hit. : )

To the voters: Use the force. Let your conscience be your guide. Listen to your heart. Flip a coin or roll the dice. Blindly click the number keys. Whatever. Just vote.
Sometimes I swear things on this site are overanalyzed to death. Just enjoy it - it should be entertaining if nothing else. And look at it this way, it may be the only time you'll ever see the comment: "DNMC 10!" |

If we're lucky, all the literal-minded voters' hard-wired little brains will explode at the thought of scoring this challenge! ;-)

Now that is just unfair... Part of the Challenge or Criteria (whichever the C stands for in your version of the acronym DNMC) is actually adhering to the challenge rules... thus a photo which does not meet the rules therefore does not meet the challenge...
I saw the challenge and instantly submitted a photo - reason - i didnt follow the rules, but thought about not meeting the challenge. Should i get DQ'd for not meeting a challenge which tells me not to meet it? personally, i dont think so.

not meeting challenge does not equal not meeting the rules, therefore DQ. I'd pull it. |

Yep, pull it. You don't need a DQ on your record over an April Fool's joke. |

Yeah - i can see why people might think that but i just explained why it isnt. The challenge consists of the description, the title and the rules - otherwise why would we have the rules attached to each challenge and have separate rules for separate challenges (thinking minimal, basic, advanced and expert here). That doesnt seem to work. Challenge rules, challenge description, challenge title, all need to be adhered to. Not meeting the rules does not necessarily mean that you didnt meet the other two parts of the challenge, but it is part of not meeting the criteria for the challenge or the challenge itself however you want to semantically look at it... SC has spoken tho it seems...
Pulled it and entered something which is borderline... |
