Just got back from first bike ride of the year, a gentle cruise on the ol' Raleigh, sunny out, +2...very refreshing and wonderful endorphin rush...

When it's time to start taking the Claritin. And it is. Spring is here! :-) Also when the clock changes (it did last night here) and it stays light so much later. Oh, and I become a flower person - at least for a little while...

Yesterday(Saturday) it was wet, cold and windy.

Today(Sunday, just for those who lose count easily) it was sunny, warm and light until it got dark, an hour later.

Yep, UK switched to Summertime last night/this morning, and it really felt like spring. I even ventured out, as far as the garden for a few shots!!

Buds are budding, flowers are flowering and in the words of the infamous poem:

The Spring has sprung,
The grass has riise,
I wonder where them birdies is!

An inch of snow? Is that possible? I can't remember the last time I only saw an inch of snow. Where I am at our snow pack is at 189% of normal (a ten year record). Of course it hasn't snowed at all in March. Our first snow of the season they predicted three inches- we got fourteen. That was pretty much the trend- prediction of seven, we got 24. At least I shouldn't have to worry about forest fires until late July. :)

The only thing in Michigan that says spring is the calendar. I'm still waiting for all of the snow to melt.

I have yet seen the temps down to freezing after the Killdeer arrives.

Our HUGE piles of snow are melting!!!! We had ~100 inches of snowfall this year - an absolutely crazy amount for here.

Yes, I third that. Actually most of the snow has melted (even the snow we got in the past few days). Now there are all of those carcasses of snow plow mountains that border parking lots with their accumulations of dirt clumped up on the surface. Yuck!

I'd take a shot of the flowering bush by my front door, but I don't want to make any snowed-in folks jealous :)

I will let ya know next week... maybe Spring will show up and stick around then... we are facing 2-12 inchesof snow/sleet over the next 24 hours here in Northern WI. We thought it was Spring for like a nano second then we got slapped with reality...lol.. But on the upside we will have some beautiful snow to shoot instead of SNIRT.. no one wants to photograph SNIRT...lol :O)

I live in a town in Italy that's built on top of an old canal system like Venice. All the standing water means we have a breed of super-mosquito that doesn't die until it drops below freezing. They've had 2 months off and now they're back for spring... :-(

In the pregame conference, when the umpire says "if the ball goes into the mounds of snow along the fence, have your fielder raise his hands and we'll call it a ground rule double", we know it's spring in Michigan....

Off to Opening Day in March, in Michigan. Brilliant scheduling! Actually, temp will be mid-50's, but chance of rain throughout the game. Go Tigers! :-)

Star magnolias in full bloom, and the dogwoods buds are starting to swell. Daffodils are everywhere. The Ohio river is WAY up. Opening Day at Wrigley Field! Go Cubbies!
