I have never in my life been so close to professional athletes, so even though the pictures aren't that great, I wanted to share them with you. Long story short...
My son Andre was selected as a winner of a local contest, sponsored by Apple Orthodontix, and for the honor he received two tickets to the game tonight and was honored on center court before the game for his excellent behavior, character, scholarship, and community service. He got to shoot hoops on the court, was an honorary captain, and was in the pregame huddle and the pregame coaches and captain's meeting. It was awesome. He was on the court to greet every player, high fiving Dirk and the boys, and Jason Kidd was extremely nice to him and spoke to him several times. I wasn't allowed on the actual court so I couldn't get any pictures of him during the pregame meeting, but they took a pic of him with Dirk and will send it to me in the next couple of days. Anyway, it was just amazing.
I just wanted to share...and the Mavs won, so that made it even better. :)

That's so cool! Certainly not an experience he will ever forget. I have no idea who any of these players are, but I love the shot of Jason Kidd's head. I bet that's one angle he's not used to being photographed from.

It was so funny...I was told to stand behind the Mavericks' bench, and during the pregame warmup, Jason Kidd sat down right in front of me. I was thinking, "Oh my goodness...that's Jason Kidd's head, right there about three inches away from me." All I could do was get a pic. ;)
It was such a cool experience for him. He never really let on that it was the greatest thing since sliced bread, but he had about a million text messages from friends who saw him on TV. One of his friends sent him this message:
"U R so freaking LUCKY, man!" I figure he'll be the big man on campus today.
