See, now if you were on Yahoo IM, you could do photosharing whilst chatting and send him all those lovely pictures. :-)

:) Damn, I feel so transparent all of a sudden.

Yahoo IM, you say... :)

I'm on yahoo messenger, but I have no idea what my id is. I'll have to ask Terry hipychik. LOL! Once I find out I'll post it. The problem is I always forget to actually shut it off, so it looks like I'm always available. Then if I do shut it off, I forget to turn it back on unless I reboot the computer, then it starts itself up and logs me in.

Anyway guys, thanks for cheering me up :D

Guess it's time to get on with work...

I tried sending a Yahoo IM invite out, but it appears to not be allowing it at the moment - throws an error, so I'll try later. But I really only ever have it on at work, so it might not be a reliable chat device, unless I can get in the habit of turning it on when I'm at home.

And don't worry about the transparency, Jelena - it's just you're "speaking" in sort of a universal language right now. It's kind of heartwarming really. :)

Mary, those photos are BEAUTIFUL! You captured so much motion in them, and the b/w conversion is sublime!

Ummmm, Karen, did you see todayĆ¢€™s PM, just one more small question.. [Carefully looking around huge Herpie growing out of lip].

And now for a bit of expressionism... I'm stuck indoors and I've got a report to finish by tomorrow.

I can relate to these faces...

what's the page minimum you're shooting for? or is that question too painful to entertain at the moment?

I want to see one of you with pencils sticking out of your ears, hip-deep in crumpled notebook paper... :D (or are you not old enough to remember writing reports with pencils and notebook paper?)

Pencils? Would you believe, I don't think I actually own a pencil...
I have some pens or a keyboard? :)

2000 words, so really not the end of the world. I'm just winging really... :)

oh, pffft. 8 pages, no sweat! And yes, I do believe you don't own a pencil. :)

I'm pretty gobsmacked. I immediately thought: "I own hundreds of pencils" before considering that that might be something of an exaggeration. Even so, a quick count at this table/desk where I now sit, gives . . . wait for it . . . seventeen (17) and I know there's at least as many again in the same room.

Pencils. You got to have pencils.

Propelling pencils - drawing pencils - carpenters' pencils...

*sob*

Yesterday I purchased a gross of carpenter pencils. And currently sit in the cab of my truck.

No, I have nothing in my inbox yet, Alan - if you sent it a while back, maybe the servers are slow...

I'll admit - I haven't been following the conversation so far - it's moving just a bit too quickly for me right now.

I think I'm setting my own personal record right now - I have *29* comments on my "Peace" entry. I cannot wait for that challenge to end. If I do not get the brown ribbon, I will be honestly and completely stunned. I made a very bad decision on what to enter.

On the other hand, I cannot wait for the beginning of the Pet Portraits challenge, as I have a good feeling about my shot for it. Not ribbon material, for sure, but one that should help bring an end to my low-scoring slump.

All these pencils. Do you do batch sharpening of them in PhotoShop??

Can you sharpen them less??

I've now signed up for a Yahoo account; screen name "Bruce_the_Robert". Feel free to add me (the other name -- BruceTRobert -- is for AOL IM, if anyone uses that).
02/24/2008 05:07:37 PM · #192
I wish, LOL I lead a group of 5 guys doing concrete work. Every surface is rough, and the pencils are sharpened with box knives. Drop a few into the dirt, and they disappear quickly.

I'm on Yahoo also my IM is monami_co. It's a long back story why that's my name instead of coprenks which is every where else. I just added Deb and hopefully she will accept and I can then pick her mind with all my photo questions. You all that have yahoo IM can add me just don't ask me any pp questions as I'm a loser when it comes to that. Thank you Deb and Jeb for your comments. We will see how it turns out.

I'm gonna have to add all you guys. Surprise: I'm colorcarnival on yahoo messenger.

I know we are all just getting settled in here at the barn and all...but since we are already on about our 8th or 9th page I have to ask....where do we go from here? Are we going to "Stomp The Yard", or perhaps a mountain retreat, or even just a nice pub? the TS Zoo?
02/24/2008 07:18:45 PM · #197
I don't have a yahoo messenger account - but if anyone is on MSN, you can look me up - smallelf@hotmail.com

02/24/2008 07:22:45 PM · #198
Pubs are nice. Rainforests are nice too. I'm guessing we must have already had a beach at some point?

Btw, since all you guys are on YM, thought I'd come and join :) Just signed up for a Yahoo account, the usual - purpleflutterby13.

Hey gang, I've been inspired to try something bigger than just me doing the MS Walk. How about as many of you as possible come to DC, do the walk with me, and then enjoy a DC GTG?

Here's the thread I started.

I haven't even told Lindsay about the idea yet (she's out at "girls night out" Academy Awards party), but I'd imagine I could offer our guest room and plenty of floor space.

The basic idea is raise money for MS and then we'll go shoot for the rest of the weekend April 5-6.

I wish I could come Jeffrey, but alas most of my vacation has gone to replace rainy days and a housing slowdown, the northeast has to wait for at least another year, sigh.

Im in for pets, it will get hammered, but a larger copy will be on the wall this week. Thank you again Karen for you advice..
