Ok, Purplebutterfly, move over for a sec.... my turn to rant. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
someone complaining that my entry has a "high degree of posterization" in a certain part of the subject. Um, the subject has a TEXTURE to it, it is NOT posterization. geesh. and coming from someone that likely just looked up the term and was hoping for an occasion to use it! No idea what score he gave it but it certainly dropped. To quote Ren: "Stimpy, you iddyiiiittt"
Ok, you can have the rant section back now.

Thanks, Mary. If I understood half of what the descriptions meant, it would help. Oh, well. At least I entered the two shots Don said were artsy. :) |

Ha! That's why I entered the artsy ones, too. FWIW, the wine glasses are the only one of my first three attempts at onexposure.net to make it past the first round of screening. :P (thanks, Deb, for giving me yet another place to wonder whether my stuff's any good) |

Y'all are a bunch of lightweights... I've got over 200 challenge attempts and still can't figure out how to get a 6 with any consistency. Lightweights! Oh, and I won't even attempt that onexposure place. Nuh uh. I get enough non-validation right here, thankyouverymuch.... :-)

April 2002
149 challenges
But I did take 18 months off somewhere in the middle.
On a lighter note, I ordered the 40D from B&H and it will be here the middle of next week. On a sad note, I sold my 10D on eBay and have to send it to its new home on Saturday. I will be totally without a camera for a few days. First time this has happened in my whole life, or as long as I can remember. |

Awesome work, Catherine.
Is this open to people from all over?
Are you submitting matted anmd framed prints?
I didn't really pay close attention 'cause I thought this was a local exhibition.
I know I can come up with five I think are pretty good......but they'd be jpg files for an electronic entry, I'm not going the matting, framing, and shipping route.

Jeb, you can submit via email with jpegs and pay submission fee with credit card (it is $35.00 for five photos and $5.00 each after that). The instructions are really easy to follow, which is good for a computer bonehead such as myself. If a piece(s) is selected, then you have to pay the shipping, etc. But it might be worth it, as the photos in that gallery go for around $1500-$2500 each. The most I've ever sold a photo for previously is $165.00, LOL. Not that I'm expecting to get accepted for this.

Okay......shipping on what if I submit jpg files?
Should I just go to the entry form and it'll walk me through?
I hate to click on anything that starts a process if I'm not going to complete it.
I got pranged a bunch of money once 'cause I did that with a marketing service.
I was hoping one of you might indulge me and walk me through the understanding it part.

BTW, all this talk of exhibitions is kind of timely....I just took some night shots of the lovely restored Victorian that was converted to a day spa where I have four large pictures exhibited.

Gorgeous Victorian, love the bay windows...
Lea, the glasses frames really set off your colouring well, good choice!
And two TSers have made terrific comments on my Led Zep shot...more than makes up for sucky 4.8ish score... |

Jeb, the Chelsea thing in a nutshell - you submit you pictures in jpeg for consideration. If chosen, you must submit them printed, matted, and framed, and ship them to the gallery, at which point you will be offering them for sale. There's probably more, but them's the basics. |

Okay......that's what I was afraid of.......I'm speccing a thousand dollars or so of matted, framed pics now.
Screw that!!! LOL!!!
ETA: I do hope that you who choose to enter do well.
