Aww, thanks guys -- this was a fun thread to wake up to! Then again, now that I'm elderly, it's just nice to wake up!
I thought I'd share a few impressions of being 40, particularly for you young kids in your 30s or earlier.
First... my daughter now refers to me as Captain Elderly. I brought that on myself, thanks to using that term while I'm driving. ("Ohhhh, great! Now I'm stuck behind Captain Elderly!")
Second, what is the deal with these eyebrow hairs? I suddenly have these eyebrows that appear to be making a run for it.
I won't even get started on gray hairs. But they're really starting to win the battle.
Well, I have to go -- I have things to do today. I have to rig my car so it will no longer go about 25 mph, and set the right turn signal to blink permanently, for one thing. And my oatmeal isn't getting any warmer.
EDITING TO ADD... It's not all bad! My wife surprised me with tickets for a cruise next month!

If you saw your shadow this morning, this year will be filled with great photo ops and photos.
If not, well, this year will be filled with great photo ops and photos.
C'mon, you don't really believe seeing a shadow makes a difference? It's going to be a great year!

It'll leave Tampa, and head to Key West and Cozumel. It'll be a relatively short one (4 nights), but certainly enough to help me out of the winter blahs! |

Happy Birthday. Looks like it's time to pack up the stuff and move down here to Fla. like all the old northerns do. Come on down, the weather is great and hurricane season is sooooo much fun.
