Well... I guess that's one ribbon we won't have to worry about.

Hmmm...Life Insurance Policy current?

Yup, his wife paid the premium last week.

The question is did he fall? or!

I wonder why they chose to include the age of the photographer his wife and friend. As if to point out that he was 11 years younger than his wife and she was only 9 years younger than the friend. What was the gender of the friend?

Just questions...

We all are thinking the same things.
Something just doesn't seem right.

I've noticed that the media always reports the person's age for some unknown reason. Even if it really has no bearing on the story.

"No honey, don't use the 5D, use my P&S instead"
*mumbles to self, 5D will sell well at the pawnshop*
"Make sure to get a nice tight crop!"

They are talking about snapshots, little they know that he was taking an artistic rendition of the cliff... he's been offended dead.

yeah, but not so often the age of the wife and friend at the same time not disclosing the gender of the friend.

Hopefully he had it in burst mode and got a couple good action shots on the way down.

But ya, I was thinking foul play as well.

I wonder if they could have gotten a picture with more JPEG artifacts if they'd tried.

'Canoe Man's' wife arrested in Britain

It's sad, but this is one of the first things that came to mind when I read the article in the OP. I imagine this thought has surfaced in many places (internet blogs, forums, etc...), which is equally sad (perhaps more so), since if this event truly happened can you imagine what it must have been like for the friends and family of this photographer? A horrific thing to have witnessed.

ETA - How many stupid things have we done to get 'that' shot?

I'm curious why they photo that was released wasn't a nice family photo. It appears to be a mug shot.

I suspect the released photo was cropped out of a larger one.

My first thought was foul play as well. Several years ago, a woman fell to her death off of one of the overlooks of the Blue Ridge Parkway. It turns out that her husband had pushed her. :(

Man, a guy falls to his death and the main reaction is to joke about it? Talk about cynical and detached from humanity.

hmmm........ wasnt this just a plot on CSI?

That is a horrible situation, but could be considered fishy depending on the circumstances.
I hope that the authorities do a complete investigation to rule out any possibilty of foul play here.
