Photoshop CS3 has just arrived through my door.
Installed and just having a look around.
It looks very different, but is there much of a change from CS2?
What should i be looking for?
The bigest difference i have noticed so far is it takes a lot shorter time to load up.
Just looking for any tips anyone has.
Cheers

Camera raw in CS3 has a few nicer features, take a look.

Go to Adobe and get the latest version of Raw it's now 4.3.1

OK dowloaded and instaled latest camera raw.
Need to go out and take some pics now to use this software. Mucking about with old shots is just not the same.
I have always used raw shooter for my raw proccesing, i think i may start using bridge and camera raw.

B&W Adjustment in CS3 is very nice. You can give different shades of gray to colors, makes it much controllable grayscale conversation for color photos :)

check also the new 'smart select' feature.
I like the new "smart object" conversion of your picture layer. this enables to apply FILTERS as LAYERS (non destructive).

Smart select thing looks interesting. Not sure exactly how to use it yet but i will.

It's a good program a lot faster than CS2.
Any more tips and tricks and shortcuts

Where to I begin?...

- Curves have the functionality of Levels built in.

- Align Controls can automatically combine multiple layers and bring them into register using any of four alignment options. This is great for HDR and merges.

- New Clone Source palette...you can select up to 5 clone source points for clone stamping or healing brushes.

- Image Stacks. From what I read this can be used for determining small differences or simularities between a sequence of image frames.

- Smart Objects now have Smart Filters.

- Quick Selection Tool--very cool.

- Bridge 2.0 has been drastically improved. I now use it exclusively.

- Convert to B&W from a single dialog.

I won't even get into the improvements to Camera RAW...too many to discuss right now.

I agree. The B&W Adjustment pretty much renders all the other conversion techniques obsolete.

Smart filters ROCK. Being able to non-destructively apply Gaussian Blur and fade it, etc... is the shiznit!

Been messing around with the smart filters. They are really cool. I did a comparison betwwen smart filters and applying them like we used to and at 100% crop the difference is very noticable.
