I have taken my little Honda on logging roads before, but it doesn't prefer them. Should have bought the Subaru and am kicking myself somewhat for that. However, gas mileage in this Honda is amazing.

I too am getting quite jazzed for this. Still need to find somewhere to stay in Twin Falls on the way down. Any suggestions? Nothing fancy needed.

And yes, I'm getting excited about the trip, can't wait!

I'm stopping in Boise on the way down as we are going to see a friend for the evening. On the way home, via Vegas, we will stop in Twin Falls. I've been using Holiday Inn Express whn I can. Not the cheapest (normally around $70-80) but always clean and includes breakfast. I believe there is one in Twin Falls.

Yes! In anticipation I went out into the great white north yesterday and wandered around in the high mountain snow just to get a sunburn. Now that is out of the way so I will not have to worry down in the high desert.

Can't wait for some sun that is actually warm!

Yep - It depends on what your neighbor in Jersey is doing. I have space for 4 total. Greg, me, __ and __.

Just checking to see if I have another passenger already.

Wow - what a day.

BTW - We're down to 15 days!

Nice shots JB!!! That is one of my favorite places on earth.

I am starting to get really excited about this trip. I decided that I will be staying the first night in Mountain Home Idaho. It is about as close to midway, and the drive the first day is do-able without massive burnout. From Mountain Home to Torrey is 499 miles, give or take. I am arriving there on the 16th. Maybe we should exchange phone numbers? 14 days and counting, 13 till I start my adventure down...

I won't be able to make it to this GTG. I have finally accepted that it can't happen for me and I just cancelled my reservations. After an extremely slow year in business I have just contracted quite a lot of work starting this Monday and I won't be able to take the time off for this trip.

I hope to make it next year :(

Nikolai,

I'll let your float a paper boat in the small Fremont River. ;-) Other than that, we won't have water.

However, we can certainly go kidnap Robert and bring him to Utah ... someday.

Everyone else, I'm getting Jazzed - how 'bout you!

My son and I are ready to go and leave this Sunday! We are driving to Vegas for two days first, then Zion and then to meet you in Torrey. Should be a fun trip.

See you all then.

Getting very jazzed I am. Been looking forward to this quite a bit. Leaving Monday late afternoon, or Tuesday early morning, dependant on my traveling companion, better half, HairGirl, as she is coming down with me as well...

Looking forward to meeting everyone and taking in some new scenery (hopefully better weather as well?) Been noticing a fair amount of snow still in places on the route down, and hopefully this won't be much of a hinderance

Cheers

So far, the extended weather forecast has beautiful weather. Sunny and 60's in Torrey (Capitol Reef) and Sunny and 70's in Moab. I'm hoping we have some clouds to add drama to our shots.

I'm really looking forward to this shoot. Life at school has been a bit hairy. Yep, see the news at 5PM on KSL TV - I hope I didn't make an idiot of myself. ;-)

I would be kind of expensive for someone to fly to Florida and kidnap you. Can you kidnap yourself and take yourself to Utah?

Just a small group - Me and mine, Nikolai and his, Agaricus and his young 'un, JBSmithsana and his, and a non-member, Chad Smith and his. I can't remember what Chad shoots, so you've got a chance.
