We've been putting up with limescale-encrusted taps in the bathroom sink for some time. We got a plumber in to change them and to likewise change the taps in the bath. He couldn't get the taps out of the sink, but managed to change the bath taps, which only really needed to be replaced to match the new sink taps he was supposed to fit. This is our rigged-up assembly in an effort to steep the ends of the taps in limescale remover. Bits of string is how we do things around these parts, you know.

Several people have asked to see my garage photo without the grain. I ran it through Neat Image, but I am not sure if I like this plastic look....

Here's day 24 for me. I hate to keep saturating my days with eagles, but if I could find anything more beautiful and fun to shoot where I live, I would!!
These next 3 shots are funny. The eagles were sort of putting on a show for us today. This is an adult and a young eagle. The young one was minding his own business and the adult swooped in on him and knocked him on his butt.
Then another car pulled up and they all quit playing around and just sat there.

Just in case people have not seen Judis images from her flooded HOME town, where she lives. Take a look at this link as you will be rewarded with some amazing footage of this devistating situation the people are dealing with due to these floods.
It is definately worth a look.....

Sharing 4 photos today but please don't feel you have to comment on all of them. I walked to Fort Amherst, it was sunny and -5ºC with little wind.

This is a beautiful road near the Kilauea Lighthouse. Quite different in greenness from the perspective shot from the West side of the Island a few days ago.

I cannot believe that I got to hold and have my portrait taken with a Laysan Albatross. But it is true and here is the picture to prove it. |

I didn't get a chance to shoot during the day, so I took a couple of snapshots of the sunset while on the way home.

Work has been crazy for the last week, haven't been able to shoot or comment. Not even going to try to catch up on the photos, but will get to comments for everyone, although not guaranteeing that it won't take me longer than the month to get all finished.
Day 22 - The Hive
(Snuck out of work for a couple hours at sunset to try and get a shot for the framing challenge. Didn't get anything worth entering for that, but came up with this shot which I like -- even if it is a little noisy.)
Day 23 - The Office
(This place is getting waaaaay to familiar.)

It seems like the whole State of California has been under a rain cloud for the past 24 hours. We got a break in the weather early this morning, and I saw that we had SNOW on the mountains. I know, it's no big deal for most of you, but this happens maybe once or twice every winter in my neck of the woods. So.... I grabbed my camera and went down to the wharf to take pictures looking back at the mountains. There were about eight other people there with the same idea, so I guess it was a good one. My plan was to get the mountains when the light was just starting to hit them. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate. Just as I should have gotten the killer shots, the clouds came back, and these are about all I got:
I did get this one looking out to sea. It may be too minimalist for some tastes, but "in person" the light was spectacular.
