Be careful of offers such as this. One of these days, I'm going to take you up on that. When I retire, I plan to get me a motor home, a nice knit cap and one of those flowery mumu dress things, and become one of those old people who drive slowly and take in the sites. Nova Scotia will be on my list.... :-)

Just finished voting on Time Lapse, which I intended to enter but having seen the calibre of entries, glad I didn't! Will try to get in on Specs and Rivers/Streams...

...and Deb, make sure you head on over to Eastern Ontario too in your RV!!!! you can park across the road from my place at the snowmobile clubhouse!

Terry, you're more than welcome to join me. I've actually spent time trying to figure out a way to keep cats in a motor home. And to find internet connections to upload pictures. I'm seriously thinking I may do this at some point. And when I do, you're all subject to visitation...... bwaaahhhaahaaahaaa!!

Oh, and I'll take in the sights, too. Geez, you get a bit older and a bit lazy and your English goes all to hell...

58 F degrees and I believe we might have smog instead of fog. Global warming?

I bought a 1976 Travco Motorhome a few years ago. It was a blast. A big ole hipymobile. I'll post some pics sometime. I was too scared to drive it very far though, dang it! It did a lot of swaying and moaning and groaning!

You DO remember we discussed this when you visited me, and we have an agreement-in-principle to travel together? With the Cape as home base?

As for cats traveling in motor homes or van conversions, I did it for years. They loved it. The internet connections are easy now, there's a lot of wireless hot zones available.

hell, we had two adults, an infant and a dog in a converted vw van for 3 months. we survived. the dog, however, seems to have a bladder the size of a zeplin...

meaning he can really hold it, or meaning he takes forever to go?

he can really hold it. we had one drive of nearly 8 hours, and when we finally stopped, he got out, sniffed around, and lay down to sleep.

The first time I drove a motor home was the summer after I got my license. We traveled from the east coast back to Utah to visit the grandparents, and my dad and I took turns driving. It was a blast! I'd just tuck in behind a truck and follow in his slipstream. Oh, and I took it after my senior year to a state park with my best friend for a weekend getaway. It was a 26 foot Kayot motorhome. We bought it used in 1976 for $6000, and sold it in 1986 for $6000. Pretty darn good investment, it was.

So not fair, Christian. :P

Here is the only pic I could find right now. This is the MoHo. A 1976 Travco Motorhome, built in Michigan. I paid 3200 for it and sold it for 4200 (after many repairs) to this young couple. They rode to Michigan with friends and drove this back home to Montana. They sent me an e-mail and told me they made it with no problems (I was a little concerned!).

Wonderful shots Christian. Too many to comment on because they are all quite lovely.

I can't match Christian, but ...

(does it count as fog when you're at 7200 feet in the Alps and could just hike down a few hundred feet to get out of it?)

Where to start? ...

Happy birthday Meyers. (taking the easy way out of this name maze)

Deb, it seems there is some light at the end of your tunnel. Yeah! Good luck.

Christian, I love your fog.

Lea, I like your zoo.

I agree the Time Lapse challenge has a lot of excellent shots. I'm having great fun reviewing it.

I got one comment on my entry in TL (by someone who registered today and has cast 12 votes) that simply says this picture sucks. I'll take that as a compliment. It doesn't measure up to a lot of the shots in the challenge, but at least I entered, and it's not doing badly.

Ooohhh I've wanted to visit PEI and Nova Scotia since I was kid, of course I was/am a Green Gables fan. The description of the scenery in Montgomery's books just lit up my imagination and I thought they must be the most beautiful places in the world. Bear in mind I was raised in New Guinea so I thought snow was exotic.

Here we call them the Grey Nomads, they sell up the family home, buy a van, stick a bumper sticker on it that says "spending the kids inheritance" and spend their retirement travelling the country.

Thank you for all the wonderful fog, mist and smog pics, what a wonderful thing to wake up to! I'm a going to make a coffee and enjoy them :D
