Well, I'm a little behind.....this weekend was a whirlwind (Literally, too, ice and tree branches EVERYWHERE!!!) with having all sorts of things to do Saturday, then we lost power Sunday morning at 6:00 A.M..........'til midnight last night. We had to get the kid to a friend's so that she could shower and change for school this morning, chase around and dig up a space heater, wonder if we were going to have to drain the water system in the house so it didn't freeze and move to a hotel for a couple of days, get Lisa ready to leave early this morning in case she had to go to the gym to shower before work......all in all yesterday SUCKED!!!! It is really difficult to live in the outer reaches of civilization and not know whether we're going to lose power for three hours or three days. You have to be able to deal with both, which I am, but not knowing makes it rough. I was cooking on the camp stove all day and we were rounding up the necessary things while we had light.....of course with it being winter, our daylight window is less, too. Living by candles, a Coleman lantern, and a camp stove is fun if you're away for the weekend, but I don't recommend it for real life. Coupled with having responsibility for a slew of pets as well, there was no break yesterday. So I'll be catching up on my commenting in the next few. Here are a few shots that I stooped for while running for provisions yesterday......

These photos are really not very thorough at capturing the deadly beauty of this ice that breaks trees, makes roads barely navigable, and knocks down power lines.

On Saturday, I got a bunch of interesting shots - so I'll post in clusters. Other days I don't post at all. I'm thinking it all balances out. |

I like these candids you've been posting. They're so earthy and have an almost voyeuristic quality about them that appears like you've caught them and they don't know it. It's an art to capture this kind of image, IMO, and you do it quite well. Thanks for these glimpses; these slices of their lives.

The leaves being the only ones left on a tree got my attention.
The well lit lawn is a home a couple of blocks from where I live. I didn't post a current shot yesterday, so these are both from today. I will be commenting more as soon as time allows.

Well, I dunno if any of you know, or care, but I've been a British car enthusiast, restoration specialist, shop owner, club originator/member/officer, and general freakazoid over these lovely things all my life. I took this first shot of this horribly misplaced beauty yesterday at the Jag dealer.(It *SHOULD* be in my driveway!!!) The second shot is my Automobile Ad, which was a customer of mine, who is letting the thing languish and rot (I'm hoping to be able to come up with a way to obtain and restore it as it's a somewhat significant piece of Jaguar history), and the third is a car that I hand built/restored from the ground up for a friend of mine. Enjoy!
