Day 31

Happy New year to all! This has been a WONDERFUL side challenge. I have enjoyed having a look into your day-to-day lives and sharing the last month of 2007 with you. There were so many great images! I am a little behind in my comments and so will be commenting a lot in the next few days to catch up. Thank you to all who've commented on my pictures. Above your nice words, it is the friendship that I will remember.

I was busy for most of the daylight time today, but did stop on the road home, and snapped a couple at a group of sand hill cranes. They flew at about the time I got the last couple of shots, so here is an action shot from about 1/4 mile away.

BTW: I only spent a minute to convert them from RAW...Doh!

Can you tell me how you got this particular look?

I love this and would like to learn it.

PLEASE????

I never thought that I would drop $140 on the Lucis Art plug-in, but after a local pro showed me what it is really for (many believe it is for fancy, artsy stuff) I picked it up. I so didn't want to drop that much coin that Wizardy and I worked on a Script for PSP (X1/X2) to duplicate the artsy effect of Lucis. We got close but no cigar.

That being said this shot was processed with Lucis Art at one of it's extremes and PSP X2's Clarify adjustment which is a most excellent Contrast High/Low adjustment.

In Lucis Arts defense (cost (and I would rather give my money to them than Adobe)) when used at it's weakest settings it can draw detail from dark areas on any photo. It is an Exposure secret weapon for sure. Yes, there are some Artsy effects as well.

I'll ask Wizardry if I can post the steps we were using (as we was working it together) for our script to get you pointed in the right direction.

Day 30 - (in the words of Billy Corrigan) Let Me Out

Is was finishing up last year resolutions (Which I refer to as a head start on next years) by cleaning up the garage and came across my nail toy. Took Woody and smashed him against the nails and this is the result.
