It was definately too cold to stand along a river. But watching the acrokirbic show on the ice was pretty much worth our efforts. lol The picture of him on the ground didn't turn out though, :(

I got the embarassed look shot shortly afterwards however. lol also got on of you holding your left nut in your hand. Going to skate lessons now when I get home I will try to process a few photos and get them posted.
Anyone get any good eagle shots? I got a couple that might be ok if I crop the snot out of them. Have to have a closer look to be sure. My best shots are of the ice formations on the rocks.

My eagle shots weren't any good - just too far away. Some of the scenery was nice though.
And the motley crew

I haven't processed many of the eagle shots yet, Not sure it is worth the effort but I will take a closer look at those at a later time. For now here are a few shots from this morning.
I had a good time today glad you guys could make it. Also glad I still have fingers on my hands. Burrr!!!

So where are those Portraits that were taken during breakfast? |

Fritz said he doesn't have the time to devote to the PP necessary to make those portraits acceptable for a general audience in the forums. |

I'm still trying to make 'em so they won't scare little kiddies ;-)
Seriously, I've got stuff from two weeks ago that I still haven't finished processing, but I hope to spend some time on it today. |

I am looking forward to the next GTG. I think I am going to be in Wisconsin til at least mid Sept maybe later. So Ill probably be around for a few more GTG's I am going to keep my eye out for a sunset balloon launch.
Perhaps Ill host one here in Watertown around August when we have our Annual Riverfest Celebration. 4 days of free music, lots of Food, A big midway , car show , raft races, last year they had a ski show but they usually never have the same type of shows two years in a row, There is a big craft fair and various other activities to take part in, All the entertainment is free and no admission charge. Food and Beer sales support the entertainment. Also a raffle where you could win 10 G they normally sell around 50-60,000 tickets so the odds of winning are quite good. Better than Powerball anyway. lol I will let you guys know more when they announce the stage line up. We have had some good bands over the years. For little watertown. Kansas has played here twice, 2 years ago we had the BoDeans alot of older bands from the 50's - the early 80's.

When the warm weather REALLY arrives and after the farmer's market starts back up, I'll post a thread about the Madison Spring GTG. |

I would like to suggest for the Madison spring GTG, that we try to do the Farmer's Market, & tour the State Capitol. Do the food thing, then head over the Zoo & Arboretum for those so inclined. I saw Sand Hill Cranes this week, so spring is in the air. Unfortunately, I am bracing for the last gasp of winter that is on its way tomorrow.

You guys are really going to town with those Windmills. Drove through there yesterday on the way home from Door County. The sky is blistered with Windmills now. I snapped a few photos from about 2 miles away full zoom. But nothing really turned out. I probably should have pulled over to take the shots but decided to just point and shoot. I was on the last 20 miles of a 160 mile drive. I would show you some of the shots I took up north but pending challenges I can't do it just yet. I think Fritz could see a couple of them now. But the rest of you are out of luck.
Speaking of Door County. I investigated a little bit while I was up there, And decided I want to go up there again sometime late spring or early summer. The Segway tours are one thing I would like to do, However I would also like to take some photographs of the areas I seen this weekend while they are in full bloom. The Cherry Blossoms would be intresting. Sister Bay and Egg Harbor as well as Washington Island.
I would probably make this an overnighter. However I would not stay up there because the In Season rates are deadly. However I would not have a problem with setting up camp in Green Bay area and making a day trip up the thumb.
Any of you guys interested ?

Ok, I have a friend from town here that said he might be interested in this also. So we will definately meet the low end quota. No Problem. I will sort through my calander and figure out what dates are available. I am assuming a weekend is best option ? I also assume we need to book ahead ?

I guess anytime would be OK and a Saturday would be nice. As far as booking ahead I guess we should find a couple of dates and see what is available. I see that 4 or more people is cheaper so thats another thing to keep in mind. The sooner we could figure this out would be the best I think.
I will e-mail the guy about dates and find out what is open. |

Ok. Sounds good, I will have alot of free time this summer because I have stopped accepting jobs and will be wrapping up my business til I move and can get re-established over in New Zealand. My wife will also be finished at her job by then, Basically we are both taking the summer off. So I can be very flexible on this one. Who else is onboard for this ?

Here is the answer I got about dates.
So far I am wide open for Saturdays. Take your pick.
If you are limited to certain days you will want to make your reservation as soon as possible. When I do the Washington Island tour I can only do that tour in a day. If I get a reservation at another location on the Saturday you want I can not also do Washington Island.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
You will have a great time!
Thanks,
Nick

ok I am good in June except the 21st, I have tickets to see Jack Johnson at Alpine Valley. So far my whole summer is a clean slate. First time in about 15 years. Feels good but also kind of strange.
