Sooo out practicing for the macro challenge today. Don't have a macro lens, don't like taking pictures of bugs - I'm sure i am screwed. Here's a pic using my telephoto lens.

Well, I sold my Canon XT and my Sigma 18-200 zoom today... probably some other equipment will be headed out the door as well.
So, I will be sitting out most of this side challenge, at least until the 20th or so when my new camera arrives!

Taken inside at a window with the sun shining in (along with my #9 entry which I posted earlier this evening). I don't own any lighting, so I had to make do with this.

Laptop light and overhead indoor tungsten. The blue behind her right ear is sneaking in from a daylight balanced compact fluorescent.

Day 11 - My favorite models, my dogs...
Indoor, 105mm, f2.8, 1/30s, ISO 1600, handheld, non-crop
Light contrast adjustment and WB fix in post, that's it.
Lighting from a 60watt table lamp to the right about 1 foot away and 1/2 foot above the dog (dog's on the couch :)

Just felt like putting in a sunset/sky shot. Saw this on my way in to work tonight. The colors have been enhanced some but the original did have some reds and oranges. I just brightened it up!

Day 12 - Outside Sammamish City Hall
1/180s, f9, ISO 100, 20mm, -2 EV
5:10 pm. Sun off on the low horizon to the right side.
Using a grad ND filter on my 20mm.
Simple scenic, not a lot of wow, but I thought the light was nice.

Could someone explain how to set up one of those shots using a mirror as a reflective surface for the subject? I'm not sure how to set up the lighting in this type of shot.
