 I was ask to shoot a benefit dinner where Keyes, who is making his third presidential run in '08 was the keynote speaker. Lighting was pretty poor for the most part. Bounced flash + ambient + some brightening up in lightroom. I also adjusted the color tone in post.

There was a person standing to the left of him which blocked part of the flash.

I really like the lighting and clarity of his face. Strongly conveys that he has a story to tell. Strange and stupid question: what would have caused part of the lapel on the left to be highlighted? Just the angle of your flash? And this would be the same flash then causing the shadow from the hands? This is a really good photo. I like it!
