Righteous Kill 7/10, Can't go wrong with DeNiro & Pacino. Not a lot of action and keeps you wondering "Who Dunnit" until about half way thru, but holds your interest to the end to see how it will play out. Not the best movie out there but not a bad rental.

Gran Torino - 5/10 - Other than Clint, the acting was freakin horrible. The story was ok, but none of the acting was convincing and I thought the ending looked like it was intended to be surprising, but to me it wreaked of an afterschool special. I did laugh at quite a few parts throughout the movie though.

I concur with all of the above on Righteous Kill.

Australia - 3.5/10

I decided to watch the movie and see what I myself thought, and to be honest I personally thought it would have to rank in some of the worst movies I've seen.
The acting of the two main characters was terrible, and the first half of the movie so fake and the second half mostly overdramatised. She adjusted waaay to fast to the country from being a silly English lady to a sensible (mostly) property owner. The scenery was quite pretty but very over done and fake to look at some. The droving parts were really quite badly done as well.
For the amount of money poured into it they could have made alot better movie. This comes from someone who has lived in Australia all her life and seen and lived in many different rural places all over. To me its a pretty false depiction of Australia's history and lifestyles.
Although I have to say the roo shooting episode made me laugh :p

Wanted - 8/10

I wasn't expecting much and thought it was going to be too silly but from that frame of mind I really enjoyed it, loads of action, good story line and not that predictable

Tears Of The Sun - 7/10

Good action, a little predictable but very watchable

Babel - 4/10

Slow, predictable and took ages to get going. Scored higher as reminded me of holiday in Morocco a few years ago!!

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button- 8.5/10 visuals were really good but it was a little too long
State of Play- 8.5/10 Saw this last week. Russell Crowe was good as usual and the story was interesting.

I agree with you 100%. Went to the theater for this a few months ago, thought that while Eastwood was good, he was like any other Eastwood character. All the other cast members were horrible... I've seen high school plays acted better than them.

Benchwarmers, 6/10. Feel good for the most part, Jon Heder at his goofy best, but it kinda trundled along.

Star Trek- 9/10 Awesome CGI and storyline that gets you into the movie even if you are not a Trekkie

Angels and Demons 7/10 - Good story line even though I never read the books or seen The Davinci Code. Predictable at times and a tad bit unrealistic but Ron Howard's portrayal of what he believes Conclave is like was very good.

Couldn't agree more a very cool film. I loved the tie ins to the original series- Captain Pike, Sulu's fencing, Bones nickname etc. All the little things made this film very enjoyable. Even though the CGI was phenomenal they were very understated which just made them all the more believable.

Very impressive and I recommend it to the house.

PS can I claim for the ticket to the cinema? :)

Blindness - 7/10.

A serious, disturbing meditation on society, survival and human nature when a mass epidemic of blindness strikes. Anyone expecting "Day of the Triffids"-type fun will be disappointed. Probably brilliant, but not a film I'd want to see again soon.

Babel - 3/10

OMG, what an impossibly meandering story that has no real satisfying conclusion. If I hadn't only paid $5 to get it on HD-DVD, I'd be steamed. As it is, it was a waste of $5.

The quality of the HD-DVD is pretty terrible too. Almost like watching a regular DVD. The quality of An American Werewolf in London, an HD transfer from the eighties (I think), was better.

Star Trek 9/10

I'm not a trekie, never have been, so I'm not exactly familiar with the basic plot. And even with all these drawbacks, I still enjoyed the film. The movie does a fantastic job introducing the characters to you as well as providing action-packed entertainment. Fantastic!

Also, I should probably mention Angels & Demons, since I saw this the same day I saw Star Trek. I'd have to rate this film a 6.5/10. It wasn't nearly as entertaining as The Da Vinci Code, although I did enjoy the Rome location and the movie's highlighting several important churches and other sites there especially since I'll be traveling there this summer. Other than that, I'd have to say that this film lacks believability and is therefore less entertaining. In my opinion, it's merely a decent film.

'Taken'
6/10
Action but the story was predictable and boring. Liam Neeson slept through his part.

The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008 version) - 6/10
I'll have to watch the original one now and see what the alien plot was there, but this one was sooooo typically predictable. In any alien movie, there is only one of two possible plots: Humans have a militaristic view of the aliens and assume they are here to kill us so they must be killed first, OR the aliens actually are here to kill us and they must be killed first. The action was ok and the acting was ok - it was late, I had a few beers and had nothing else to do, so 6/10 is probably generous.

Bedtime Stories 5/10
I didn't remember renting this from Netflix, but it came and I thought maybe Riley would like it, but I watched it first and it's well beyond his attention span. Story is like many other Sandler movies - he's a schmoe, but one that prevails in the end. Moderately entertaining.

Twilight a gracious and giving 5/10.

Star trek, wow 10/10
Even my wife who hates star trek said "i hope they make a series out of this".

Valkyrie - 9/10
Very well done. I would have liked it better had they succeeded.

Star Trek - 10/10

First movie in a long time that I've gone into with high expectations due to hype and stellar reviews, and have walked out of saying, "DAMN that was great!!!"

Star Trek 11/10
I am a huge trek fan for many, many years...I have met Walter Koenig (original Chekov), George Takei (original Sulu) and James Doohan (original Scotty before he died) and have all their autographs...huge, huge fan...

I thought I was going to hate this...The original series has always been my favorite so messing with it was not something I was happy about.

This is BY FAR, the best thing JJ Abrams ever did! Fantastic job!!! Orci and Kurtzman rock!!!

Terminator Salvation 9/10 - Nothing much to nitpick about in this one that hasn't already been picked in the others. The story was decent, the acting good, the action was excellent. It didn't surpass my expectations, but it delivered. I am only deducting 1 point for Christian Bale's invocation of his grunting Batman voice several times in the movie. :)

I saw 7 pounds a couple weeks ago and agree with the 8/10. It's almost as good as Happyness.

Bad WS movies: none really, but I give Hancock and Hitch both a "meh"
