It's nice that he put on there how he achieved all the effects.

Curious to see how voting will go on this one. I just finished my entry. Hopefully artistic merit will be important. "Lacks sharpness" should not be an issue. Hopefully a less sharp image will not be taken to be a bad photo. I might have to make my "painterly effect" more obvious just to be safe.

This is why i have no idea how my entry will score in the end, i am guessing 4.5 , 5.5, 6.0, 6.5. Any one of them.

I should just cut and paste this for every challenge and after about 10 votes I go ohhhh noooooo, one thing I'm not good at is meeting what DPCers think is the challenge. But I learn new skills all the time scores while nice are not the main goal for me.

I have got a feeling people are going to hate my entry...but I dont care...This was a proper 'challenge' for me to complete and I like what I turned in

My wife says i have no ears. She is always right, so I can not do it, even if I want to.

I love my entry, but only problem is I shot that for bokeh challenge. (and entering it here in impressionism)

This needs to start already. Reading this thread is making me neverous, and I'm getting that itchy edit finger.

For those still trying to make sense of impressionism (read Me - GRIN!)

A painting of a sunrise was in the salon in 1872 and an art critic who was reviewing the exhibition saw the piece and commented, "This painting isn't finished, it looks like an impression". Later, the painting would become the characteristic example of French Impressionism titled, Impression: Sunrise by Claude Monet. The comment gave rise to the title for the famous movement Impressionism.

Yeah, and it's such a pity that something so basic to photo-impressionism as using multiple exposures is not allowed for the challenge, not even if done in camera. I'm so bitter :)

I'm going for 'Impressionism Lite' - so be gentle when you vote on my image - GRIN

You guys KNOW I can't blur with the big guns - I'm just a fringe dweller but love to hang out with the cool people - GRIN!

Dammit.. I couldn't resist it anymore. It's going to get more and more blurry in the passing hours. Is it rollover yet?? This has got to stop!

Yeah that crossed my mind too. Use a piece of black paper and bulb mode, move the camera bit by bit and covering and exposing as you go. Still would be easier to multiexpose in camera. oh well.

I thought of the same thing, although I would have used a slot card. Still, would have been some work and I didn't know what the result would look like.

I've still got nothing. Not even an idea. Stupid stress is draining my artistic vision and I have no time to roam around taking shots in order to get it back. =[

It was a matter of time... :) I'd like to try it though.

Laugh. I was about to say exactly the same thing.

Not knowing is part of the fun! I had no clue what I'd get when I slapped some vaseline on a UV filter and walked around shooting. To my delight, I got something I really enjoy looking at.

I'm in, now give me my low five score and 16 comments that tell me I did nothing right and don't know where impressionism is on a map, hahaha. gonna be a long week. :P

Just in too, I almost didn't, but I am glad I did, I like my shot.

I am extremely bummed. I was in the process on submitting my shot, when I realized that the date on the camera was wrong! And since this was a guaranteed ribbon, validation was inevitable! Maybe I'll save the idea for the next Impressionism challenge.
