Never mind, I finally got it...my email is very slow today.

Wow, steak and beer. Who needs Italian food?

Laurie,

Welcome aboard. Although I've never met these folks, I can attest to their good intentions.

Never mind the potential for being used as bait, the Mrs. would have my hide if I let someone else serve as the main dish. She is relishing the possibility that I could be din din for some hungry beasts. Calvus has already determined that my job is to ride on top of the van roof and act as spotter. If we avoid the bumps, then I have a real chance of actually staying on.

Anyway, welcome.

Any suggestions or ideas? (Lets keep it clean! No nurse, maid or Hooters outfits allowed!

Calvus,

Just for the record......the Mrs. is a nurse, we just got back from dinner at Hooters and she does most of the house work. But I've convinced her to dress appropriately for Glen Rose.

Dan, you are the one dude :)

My wife and I are looking forward to this trip very much!

I think the one that gets the steak in the back pocket should be the one Photographer with the most expensive equipment That way we can use his or her equipment while they run along as bait! (Or should we draw straws :) )

That would surely leave me out of the bait category...with my little Sony in tow, no one would want my equipment! The trip will be, if anything, humorous watching me snap away next to 14 gigantic telephoto lenses...but I'm up for it anyway!

From the look of the pictures, I think you'll be best placed to get good shots when the animals all come in close :)

I know it is a bit late in the day, but how much notice would you need to add another person on to the trip ?

We can add another person right up to the day before the trip.

Flash (Dan) you should love this :)

Sure hope the weather person in your area is more accurate than those here.

It would be quite nice for all, to have a wonderful day. I was thinking that you folks had prayed to the weather gods and requested your unfortunate weather of late....as a hospitality function for the Mrs and I, so the the weather while we were there, would be exceptional.

Oh, that's not what you were doing? Well, I'll give you credit anyway.

Had a chance the other night to shoot with a member of the local camera club. He shoots a D100 and was quite helpful in advancing my learning curve. I can even scroll through the menu now. Tomorrow, am scheduled to shoot a new colt, just born a couple of days ago, if the weather cooperates. Getting all the particulars lined up for a few days R&R.

Be seeing you soon.

The local weather men here are some of the worse in the country :)
I got that from Weather.Com :)
I did mention it to the big guy upstairs that and for you and the Mrs to have a save trip coming down with no interference from work :)

We just got back from Fossil rim! I need to process the pics and I will post them and probably send out an email update! We have a decision to make :)

If our decision is to have fewer fotogs in more vans at a higher cost, that is alright by me. If our decision is to have more fotogs in fewer vans in tighter quarters, that also is alright with me. If our decision is to sit on the steps drinking cervesas, while we browse the post card file, that is alright with me. If our decision is that we don't get vans and have to hoof it, that is alright with me.

The only thing not alright with me is staying home, because I'm gambling that the weathermen are right this time.

I just sent out the email update and the members need to tell me what they want.

I vote for the 2 or 3 open air vans. There is so much more room for our equipmnet and those 3 jeeps will not carry us all. The jeep pictured is one of the (2) large ones, the third one they said was shorter :(

They did tell me this morning that they would do whatever to make us happy. It seems we are talking to to many people on this scheduled tour.
But they have all been very nice and polite about it LOL

Flash you are to easy going :)

Oh I forgot to tell you all.

I stopped at the Italian restaurant and confirmed for 13 - 15 photographers for lunch next Saturday. They gave me a copy of their menu and I will try to copy it and post it for you all to browse.

The lady was very nice she grinned and said do you want me to be your waitress? I replied if that is what you want.

ROFLMAO

Just give us separate checks !! LOL

Hey did you notice the small baskets on the ends of the jeep and van! That is where we can put the Steaks for bait!

Either that or tie one on the back of one of the other animals and watch them duke it out! Great Kodak Moment :)

I guess I'm glad the rookie only brings the bait...and doesn't have to pick up the tab!
