A bit disapointed by the 0 comments (not a good sign usually). I had 2 images to choose from for this challenge and I settled for the safest one... Now I regret and think that my risky entry could not have done worse than this...

My score keeps creeping down down down... However my comment is from someone who I really appreciate as a photographer, and it's a good comment... so that's a plus.

This was my dilema as well. The shot submitted was not my fave and probably dnmc for some of the hard cores (but some really high scores in prev. challenges could get dnmc if people are CONSISTENTLY strict), but the entire photo was not in focus when the frame was filled and they ding ya for that too. (Damned if ya do, damned if ya don't.) I like mine.

Note: Fill the Frame II had some highly ranked shots that DID show background, so...

Maybe I'm wrong, but looking at that thumbnails, a lot of dnmc.

I've voted on 50% sofar - and I have to agree with you here. But apparently meeting the challenge description isn't that important here anymore...

I still think it is of some importance though and I vote accordingly.

I'm curious how you'd describe, say, the top 10 from the previous challenge. Which of those would you say is DNMC?

For example, if a flower is the subject, but the pistil and stamen is the only part in focus, do you call DNMC, or do you accept that the flower is filling the frame?

I'm sincerely asking because I was wondering how to shoot for this. If nothing can be seen as a different item within the frame, then it seems to me it becomes "image without subject."

I would accept that the flower is filling the frame. If there is a background that is not the subject, then it dnmc imo.

Obviously meeting the challenge wasn't on my todo list. The silver lining is... I don't care! LOL!

I'm trying to figure out how to vote on this one. What does it mean to fill the frame w/your subject & can I look to the title for some hint as to what the photog considers the subject to be? I feel very confused.

Mines climed a tad in the past couple hours,(thank god) I looked in the past Fill The Frame challenges, mine looks to be original. I was so angry to wake up and see yet another 4.9.......I know I can do better than that.....

I've hit a personal low and the only comment I've gotten REALLY LIKED IT (and their average score received is well over mid 5 (not sub 5)! Not one DNMC comment, so confused - but what else is new around here the past few months. (Now I remember why I quit entering challenges, lol!)
Edited for typo!

Mine got up to 5.1, but then someone turned me in to have my picture DQ-ed. They said I did HDR, but in reality, I just did a very poor job adjusting contrast and levels. In the end, the judges won out because Adobe Photoshop elements added my name to the EXIF when I downloaded and I did not have the original. I just had a original with my name in the EXIF field. Bummer.

I have read the DQ procedures and I see where the rule is stated. Sort of funny that I get turned in for one offense, but nailed on a separate issue.

Sneaking up. But I've found on one other challenge, that I go between two different values mostly (in this case 4 and 5, with more 5s). The other is 5 and 6 with a few more 6.

You're still pretty new to DPC. Don't take offense or think of it as being "turned in." Instead, it's "I don't know how to do this in basic rules, so SC, please check." And what got you DQ'd was not being able to demonstrate that you could, in fact, do it in basic editing. Your DQ notice will say you didn't have the original, but that's the reason you can't demonstrate it.

Anyway, this kind of thing happens all the time, so just learn from it and move on; no one will think you were trying to cheat. And don't use Elements to move files from the camera or card to your computer. Instead, follow these guidelines.

Oh, and my score has recovered from 4.625 nicely. :)

Hanging right around 6.2 - pretty pleased with it, especially as it does not have a lot of WOW!

looks like all the scores have lead in them and they are sinking to the bottom...

a 0.6 drop is HUGE
