| I'm noticing that in spite of some great scores and some totally sucky scores (mine would be in that category, lol), VERY, VERY few comments being left. Guess the voters are "hitting and running". |

Sometimes I can't figure this place out.
The image I entered is extremely personal to me, but looking at the image itself as a third party, no one would be able to tell. Nevertheless, I entered it because it IS important to me. I figured this would ride the mediocrity train of 5.3- 5.5. Alas, entering a 'boring' entry that clearly meets the challenge in the most obivous way sometimes does pay off in your score...

Well, mine is not for everyone but at least met the challenge. Entered at the bell but that's because I hadn't decided what to do with it pp-wise until the last minute.The first 4 votes were so encouraging, at 6.5, then the slide began.

I'm curious how you'd describe, say, the top 10 from the previous challenge. Which of those would you say is DNMC?
For example, if a flower is the subject, but the pistil and stamen is the only part in focus, do you call DNMC, or do you accept that the flower is filling the frame?
I'm sincerely asking because I was wondering how to shoot for this. If nothing can be seen as a different item within the frame, then it seems to me it becomes "image without subject."

Looked at the other pic's,how do you vote on ones that don't fill the frame? Take point off for background space? There are some real good pic's with a fair amount of background that I would normally score high.
