Why?
Darn it...hit post before I was done typing!
I have a son who has Tuberous Sclerosis. Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance Long story short, as a result fo TSC, he has seizures and autism. Potty training has been a LONG LONG LONG uphill battle with him. He is 7 years old and in the first grade, and still wearing a Pull-Up.
I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but I would like to put a 'bathroom' book together for him to view while he is in the bathroom only. He is fascinated (more like obsessed) with trains, railroad crossings in particular. Would anyone be willing to contribute some pictures to us for this project? I will be doing something through Shutterfly and can only promise that I do not plan to profit off of your picture in any way. It is strictly for our personal use. I would want 4x6 or 4x4 at 300dpi.
He absolutely LOVES this photo by Heathen.
I am also thinking of doing a simple illustrated book for him with his face PS'd onto the drawing of a body standing at a potty. Anyone have an ordinary from the side view of a potty? It is strange I know, but visual queues are so important to the learning of an Autistic Kid.
Thanks in Advance!

Enjoy! Looking for crossing signs. Is it possible he is more fascinated with the black and white photo than the actual crossing symbol?
BTW Best of luck!

Thanks so much for your postings! I will look at them later with Matthew for his reaction. Thomas is great! He knows Thomas!
The train on the bridge is great too. He will be intriqued by that I think.
He really likes the railroad crossings. He knows where they all are in town and will ask me to go out of my way when there is a train passing to see one crossing in particular because there are three bars at that crossing. It is the up and down motion of the bars. I am guessing they are predictable. They will always go up after that train is done! He likes that photo in particular because the bars are down and the lights are flashing!
Keep them coming! |

You can use any of the train shots in my portfolio. I have a few more that aren't in there, it might take me a bit to track them down. I don't think I have anything at crossings though.

Whilst going through special school with my ASD children, we experienced similiar issues. The School put together story sheets/books of the children using photos of 'the children' doing the activity they are supposed to be doing.
Maybe you can do the same...take a photo of your boy next to the potty....and so on.

Thank you again for offering to contribute your pictures. They are great. Matthew had a chance to look at them with me and tell me which ones he wants. He does like the little engines with the numbers on them. LOVES numbers so that is perfect. I will pm you to let you know what we decide to use.
Any of you late nighters kind enough to help us out?
