Hi Supergirl :)

Left you a comment; please don't repay me, as my comments received has again gone above my comments given, and I don't want to get myself in even more of a hole! :)

You may also want to post this for the Reaction Club thread; I think you'd get some good reactions.

Best,

Rob

Hi Rob,

thanks so much for your extended (is that the right word) comment! I kinda agree on you about the lips, cropping under there is also strong.. but I have to think about that. If you know I wanted to take a photo because I had a new haircut today... well... no a lot of hair to see here :P

I'll see what to do with the arms, allthough I pretty much like it this way. I have a lot of space around this photo to crop though, so I'll try some different options later.

Sure you don't want the favour back? It's a small gesture for me, no problem really!

thanks again!

Hi Biteme,

I agree with rheverly, in that the cropping on the arms is a bit strange. It actually made me wonder if there was another person reaching up to take the statue away (which obviously gives the image a completely different meaning). If we could see the fold on the inner elbow, i think this would take away the question.

Still - i love the image, and the "question" actually makes you think harder about the overall image (so I guess it's not a bad thing afterall) :O)

I like the ambivalence of it. It's very interesting. The hands look as if they could almost belong to someone else and they're pressing the statue to the model, as if warding her off. The only give away is the crook in the outer wrist. I wonder how it would look with the other hand on top.
I think this would make a good diptych. The face and the lower portion. Cut the statue right above the lips so there is half a face in each portion. Sounds weird, but there is such a strong disconnect in the two portions, I think it would work. The whole picture is one that could be cut apart and reassembled in so many different ways, each with a different meaning. Very interesting indeed.
