I am going to enter the state fair. I can only enter 5 images. Which 5 do you think I should enter. My favs are these:

I figure the colorful flowers and stuff do well at these things. But I really have no idea what to expect. Do I go for artistic shots, or just scenery and other Colorado stuff?

Most State Fairs have a theme and/or preferences for images taken within the state.

Make your selections based on the State's standards. That means you may chose an inferior image if it meets the State's theme better.

In reality, you should make your own choices :) If you let someone else influence your selections, your entries are not entirely your own.

2, 3, 7, 9, 17 Great photos! These are the best IMO.

Normally I would, but the fair is all about public opinion. I want to best line up my ultimate decision with public opinion in order to maximize my potential.

I am asking several diffrent groups of people and then compiling the results. (I am off all summer and have lots of time on my hands.lol)

My favorites are 1, 4, and 15.
Followed by 3, 5, 6, and 13.
#16 would be high on the list if not for the purple fringing around the horn.

You know I never noticed that purple fringe... It isn't there in the larger size, must have been something I did when sharpening and re-sizing that caused it.

Argh, the fact that the "#11" ended up on line 2 instead of line 3 threw me off. It's actually #12 (the group) that made my second draft, not #13 (the pretty girl). I also still like 15, but it may be too dark for some -- it could depend on the tonal range in the final print.

I don't know about your fair, but fairs that I've been to tend to prefer kittens and sunsets. If you're going for ribbons, I would choose 2, 5, 7, 16. If you are looking for a venue to show your work, pick your favorites, and ignore what the rest of us like.
