Day Eleven
This is Cindi. She's the only model I could find today. Not a great model, but she works cheap and always available when I want to shoot. ;)

Day 11
Say hi to Chico! The latest doggie I've taken photos of for my pet portraits business. This session today finally moved me into profit! :D

Why do you say Cindi is not a great model?

This is El Guapo. He'd just eaten BLT's, need I say more. Perhaps the most difficult model one could ever deal with, definitely worse than cindi's model.
Focus is soft. Unintentionally.
Model is soft. See BLT comment above.
Playing with a light. I have discovered that my livingroom is woefully over stuffed with stuff to have lights, it's time to clear out the winter room (Enter the Blue Room) and set things up.

Day 11 - The Conformist (not)
I thought I had taken more shots than I did today, guess not. How you miss a shot with a 11-18mm is beyond me. But I did. That's why I didn't follow the rule of thirds here. Personally I'd like to have more space on the right side.
Another big angle in front of a roll up door (I will figure out how to use it as a background because I like the lines). The sign I stuck up there with bubblegum.
I mentioned to Billy Ross that I like to straighten every thing (left handed Virgo)...this shot drove me nuts...and I still don't know if I should Straighten along the line where the door meets the cement? Straighten on me? Straighten on one of the lines of the door? Straighten on the door jam (which I cropped out because it was hella tilted)?
Edit: Camera is on a bean bag on the ground.

DAY 10
I'm running late, and this is actually from a few weeks ago. Hope that's not a problem. Catching tommorow with new things. For a change a new face!! |

He looks like a funny guy. Nice crop and I would have never though of the rotation. Great job. |

Day 12 - My father
This is my father. He is quite slow. In this picture he was eating a hot dog but we took it out of his hand. After about twenty minutes his mouth shut and ten minutes after that he said 'Where did that go?' We have also told him his name is Doris, which is really funny when he goes to get his pension. |

This is Katie, my niece. I've already shown Kelly and Sean. They are triplets. No poker face here.
I cropped as much of the background out as I could and thought about burning some of the background distraction out, but I wrecked her hair when I tried. Instead, I used the dodge tool to highlight a little around the contour of her head toward the top.
I tried to do layers, but the burn tool didn't seem to do anything. When I figure that out I will add it to this post - but it won't count as a day's post ;) |

Day 12
Almost out of models. This was taken last Saturday with this thread in mind. Just took me a while to get to posting it with all the other portraits I have had the fortune to photograph.

I like this too Vikas! I think the angle is interesting, and he has a fun-loving loook on his face. And I always love sepia processed photos. This is a good one :)

Day 12
Yes my daughter for a fourth time in less than two weeks, but it seems people like her better than my other subjects, and this one I particularly like. |
